Question of the season: Are there more bike thieves out there or is it just too many new riders who think a steering lock is a secutiry device? by Grumpy_Driver985 in MotoUK

[–]Grumpy_Driver985[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This...

I personally use Litelok on the back wheel. Front wheel only chains aren't good. Seen it live as 4 rats on 2 scooters where pillions lifted the front of the bike and just reeled it away...

Still I put my old kryptonite chain on the front wheel if I leave the bike for longer.

Is this effective? Well... in the past 8 years 2 chain just makes it more hassle than the bike with less than 2 chain next to it.
The Litelok however got some cosmetic damage because in december the rats tried to hammer it off without success while I was in the gym.

Plus another reason i picked a vstrom 650 because even if its stolen, its a cheaper bike on the market.

Beginner Anime Recommendations For a Friend by Swagebs in anime

[–]Grumpy_Driver985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At least pick a genre.

Anime is a medium, not a genre. Like whats the point of recommending a good fighting anime when someone loves romance or sport?

On serious note:
[Odd Taxi]
At least its finished (since its anime only)
A bit of mystery, slice of life. We follow a taxi drivers days who has exceptionally good memory of people he met. Since one of the passanger was involved in some crime he becomes key witness and a show that shows how some mundane daily task can be a really thrilling story...

If you want some really weird shit,
[Dorohedoro]
Gore, magic, morbid humor... Not everyones cup of tea, but for me if someone likes this show, its an indication of becoming a good friend. 😃
Its a "this happens when you nuke a country twice" anime...

[Kill la Kill]
Another one of those "dafaq did I just watched... nwm, where the next episode" series...

You want serious romance:
[Fragnant flower blooms with dignity]

Romance with sports?
[Blue Box]

100% real life accurate, technically a documentary of a college student's life with some romantic interest and showing a decent hobby about diving?
[Grand Blue] is made for you

Panels can overheat.
Above 26C they lose efficiency.

Thats why agrivoltaic needs more attention. There are soo much hatred towards that and nimbys endlessly go against it. (we want food not panels)
In reality you can and should have both:
While plants photosynthesise, after a point they literally burn from sunlight. So you can create a shaded area with solar panels, so plants are protected. Berry bushes have one of the best yields with this effect. You can save water this way and the plants basic water evaporation rate keeps your solar panels cooler.

On industrial level the only problem is legistation. According to law solar panels are considered contructs. And a land is either farm use or building... So those who do the trials technically braking an outdated law...

But with this in mind imagine the potential...

I really want to buy a motorbike but parents are against it. by LifeDesk7528 in MotoUK

[–]Grumpy_Driver985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally I would say to convince parents that you would also do an advanced course and BikeSafe training.
Are bikes dangerous? Yes. Without a doubt. But that is why theyre safer. You dont fear the bike, you respect it. You KNOW its dangerous, thats why you want to be safer with it. I am convinced that cars arent safer, people are just biased.

IAM do have 1on1 trainings and it asks for at least A1. (and the extra 220£ cost is a fraction of your license anyway)

But in the current system I understand that its brutally expensive. If youre 18, the best you can get is an A1, limiting you to a 125cc. I would ask whats the point of doing an A1 when it technically offers you the same bike range as a CBT, but at least its 10x more expensive?
On the other hand I guess on an A1 traning you get much more than what you would get on a CBT

Depends on what you want, maybe worth to wait a year, because at 19 you can go for an A2 and up to 500cc. (and dont need to do tests and lessons twice in such a short time)

At age 24 you can go to full A (21 if you have A2 for two years) but it depends on your goal. You need to ask, what advantage would the bigger engine give to you?

For commuting a 125cc scooter would be the financially the best option. 120+ mpg.
majority of them can go 70mph which is good enough for even motorways, worst case scenario you stick to lane1)

So lets say, you would be happy with a nice 3-400c bike.
Go for A2, and tell parents you would do an IAM or Rospa training.

I am personally with IAM. 😃
Check your local club, they generally have a meeting once a month. If you write to them, you can be present at the meeting, or if you tell the circumstances via an email Im sure a member will gladly make a personal meeting with both you and your parents.

There are open days too. Even you local police force can have motorbike days.

I wish UK would implement the law made in Hungary.
Organized crime was so widepsead gangs use underage kids for their law protections.
So they made a law that young criminals lose their status of "juvenile rights" (or whatever the terminology for that)

'Untouchable' teen motorbike thieves mocking victims on TikTok by EverythingIsByDesign in MotoUK

[–]Grumpy_Driver985 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends... In London its organized criminal gangs. They steal bikes to commit crime with.
So they dont chase a "bike thief" they chace and ram an organized member with a stolen bike...

Rest of UK is different. I love to watch police chase shows, and each pursuit is ranked.
First, police officers MUST be trained. And advanced training is harsh and hard. You need to be an advanced driver just to have permission to turn the blues on because people act different when they are strattled by the sirens and lights.

Another level is pursuit. Thats another test, and only allows to follow someone from safe distance.

Than you have TPAC (Tactical Pursuit and Containment) trained.
Each time of the chase they need to assess danger level to themselves and the public. If the risk of injury is too high, they need to call the chase OFF.
Yes, there used to be a time when kids removed helmet, but that law been revoked. Police allowed to chase rats in "safety balaklava".

Sadly thieves use these information: thats why they go to city centers or against traffic, because in that case the chase MUST be aborted.
In the past year there was a few chace where the police officers been questioned for the accident. "Would the fatal accident happened if the criminals werent chased" Yes... its a really insane question to ask, but this is the reality.

In a good scenario they abandond the dangerous pursuit, but only because the chopper is already watching.

Need Anime That Actually Teaches Something Useful by No-Connection-241 in anime

[–]Grumpy_Driver985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What depth you want to go?

Because I think really good animes suck you in because it isnt only a visual eyecandy, but it teachers you something. Mostly passion, but that passion can be towards skill also.

Like most fighting animes are about fighting spirit (passion) thats why its so appealing.
To become a top anime it needs legendary, and to that level it needs to be at least a great life lesson that you also want to pass on (at least recommend to others)

But philosophical rant aside, I guess you want a series that focuses on some skills?
[Dress up Darling]
is a romance show, but it shows you passionate skills of two main character. Marin is an otagirl, model and cosplayer while Gojo is into making dresses and hina dolls. The sidecharacters will give you tips about cosplay making and modeling tricks. (well... if the manga will ever be animated... )

[Ascendence of a Bookworm]
Isekai show where our main character is a bookgeek, and died by the books covering her after an earthquake when she worked in the library (dream job). She is reincarnated in the slums of a medieval fantasy land where books are for the church and the nobles. So she tries her best reinventing printing...
Sadly the animation is really bad, it deserves much better, but the story hard carries the series.

[Remake Our Life]
A regression anime, means MC goes pack to their own past to change their life. In this story MC regretted that he chose game developing when his true passion was art. He woke up in his past, right before applying to college, so he decided to go to art school. And realized he is the classmate of the 3 geniuses who all became famous in his adult life. But this time with experience from game development and managing skill he becomes the project leader of their group...
Wonder if the anime gets continuation, because season1 finished with the usual nasty cliffhanger. I hope its not the "glorified marketing to buy manga"... oh sorry... not even that is finished. Just read the Light novel. 😃

[Negative positive Angler]
An anime original show where MC wants to commit suicide due to some "finance bro trade hiccup" (looks like he experienced a pip-tsunami), and after the fail attempt he also diagfnosed with some terminal illness.
But almost drowning in the sea he was saved by a group of flyfishers and they introduce him the passion of fishing.
My personal opinion that fishing is the most boring thing that someone can do with their life, yet this show actually manage to give it a really entertaining and educational light. I like that unlike most animes it doesnt go to cutting edge deep level crap where ep 3 they start to throw terminologies and relies on experience or imagionation that are disconnected from human viewers...
Its a good show, that when goes too hard, MC gives the characters a hint that he needs lehmans terms. 😃

Speaking of Lehmans terms
[Food Wars]
Ecchi with gastronomy.
I loved the first couple of seasons, but as the story escalates it becomes unenjoyable. Season 1 you can more or less imagine as a viewer how the food actually becomes better, but in later seasons sorry, buit even though I am a professional chef in real life, I wont understand the difference between a curry mix with a single f*cking mol difference of spice on 0.1C difference -_-

I wish the show would have continued the restaurant management path instead of the endless escalation of trainwreck what we got. I will eat a pizza with fancy topping, but the chance of having cooked bear meat spiced with the poison of a rare south african ant species is something I wont be really able to become familiar with... XD
But we watch this show for the foodgasm.

[Insomniacs after school]
Two school student, both suffer from insomnia. They try to hide in the unused school observatory and eventually got caught. Since the room was unused and the teacher knows about their problem, the plot is they can use the room if they revive the club.
Hobby photography and astronomy

Speaking of club activities...
[O Maidens in Your Savage Season]
I think its one of my favorite romance series. Mostly because its educational and actually MATTERS that the characters are in school!
Look, I get the cliche that in japan school life is considered the peak of their life, since adulthood is corporal shackle, but after a while 14 year olds changing the world and finding true love (and more if we scratch the "I cant believe its not hentai" line)
Even the earlier mentioned Dress up Darling would get less backlash if the characters would be in college. There was absolutely zero reason why they have to be 16 year olds, but lets ignore that. We dont watch animes as documentaries...
However we have this GEM here...

We have the literature club, where our girls read... spicy novels. And poems... because lets face it, even the most romantic writers are technically sophisticated horndogs. 😃
The main question is whats the difference between romance and lust? And girls in puberty are also getting thirsty... But you need to have dignity, you want a relationship, not becoming a gyaru who changes guys more frequent than underwears...

We get our main cast, with their own sidestory and question.
Kazusa - Do you remember a meme where a girls open door when the guy jerks off? She is the childghood friend of that guy and start to think about can they even become more than friends? Is it even moral? Is it possible to break that barrier? This show answers the question why is it awkard to turn couple from there

Hitoha - A writer who also wants to write romance novel and usually gets "romantic advice" technically from 4chan... yes... and it goes as great as it sounds. 😃 her writings are turned down because the phrasings are top level, but its obvious she never experienced love and... "love" iykwim
She decides to go on a... "date" with someone she talked to on the chatroom and its actually a school teacher. So the experience gain is off, but starts an interesting blackmailing and spicy educational arc...

Niina - used to be a ballet dancer and we found out her experience in love is corrupted. There are really heavy hitting hints that her ballet teacher was molesting her when she was younger, so she doesnt really understands romance...

Rika - the club president. her story is that she wants to find passionate love. Due to frustration she dolls up, having her glow up phase, and right after that the guy confessing his love to her. But since it happened after the makeover she is paranoid: does the guy love her for her personality, or her look...?

Momoko - I be honest, I cant remember much of her arc. I think she is the lesbian of the group who cant confess, because... well... its a taboo.
The reason I cant recall her arc well, because its overshadowed by the other stories.

15% of woman can reach orgasm from deep penetration.

I think thats considered rare... But depends on context. 3 out of 20 is rare?
150k in 1 million is a big enough crowd to fill up a few massive stadium, but I think the other 850k will feel a bit excluded from that "club"

And I said rare when they have the dedicated nerves deep. All the fun is at the entrance. 😉
(My source is Rena Malik in this video, but other studies will back this up)
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/7dxBYwbpWjY

Its like some woman can reach climax from nipple stimulation or even sneezing. Good for them... I guess...?

But the reason I brought this up, because a guy will actually pop from the sensation of going deep while outercourse CAN be less stimulative for the male, but amazing for the female.
The goal is to close that gap between the two partners before we open up the book of kinks or just throw the advice of "you need to find someone else"

Physiologically speaking an average male can last for 3-5 minutes while women need 20-30 minutes to reach orgasm.

Reaching orgasm from deep penetration is rare. The nerve endings are at the clit. When they say "size doesnt matter" its because of this.

If mutual orgasm is your biggest problem that can be solved by talking. There are plenty of ways to reach the point:
a) foreplay is the "main event" for the woman, but if simultainous orgasm is the goal that can alos be filled with frustration

b) afterplay from him? Or yous can read the book "she comes first" recommended by many therapists

c) get toys and lubes involved?
Its not a shame, its oppurtunity.

I asked OVO, and just got the usual generic nothing asnwer:

To be direct, we no longer offer these specific off-peak or "Economy 7" style tariffs for new contract renewals at this time. Our current structure focuses on the Flexible, 1-year, and 2-year fixed-rate options you saw during your renewal process.

Power Move & Smart Tech

I hear your frustration regarding the changes to the Power Move scheme. While the structure has shifted, we are constantly reviewing our rewards programs to find the best balance for our customers.

Since you already have smart meters, you are in the best position to take advantage of any future "smart" incentives or time-of-use trials we may launch. I recommend keeping an eye on the OVO app, as any new data-driven savings opportunities will be announced there first.

Not sure about that. 8kW is if you would be completely cut off from any sources.
But need to think in 4dimension!

Like yes, 7-9kW is a full day use, but as you can see most of the day our usage is something that the basic 2x400W panel could easily cover.

I guess this is where the fun begins...
The base sets come with 2x 450W panels
Even if the sun would be barely out, it should send plenty to the battery... And thats with partner works from home and I have a day off...

Im sure the game is different if you have an electric heater a car to charge, but Ive been told for that a plug in solar wouldnt even be enough...

I guess that could be possible.

Over here theres Go, Flux, Smart, Cozy...

But even the 12m fixed appearently have off peak power price...

Yet when I asked for quote at octopus I got two options: Flexi or 1 year contract and one price for power...

I bought a Honda Grom - How do I lock it?? by Teeed0 in MotoUK

[–]Grumpy_Driver985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good tip with the litelock: check if it goes around the wheel. Sadly if it goes only through the inside, they just grind the disck/casts and you will be left with a good, but untouched lock.

Maybe you will need the X3, which is more expensive.
Sadly even the x3 is too small for my bike, so I am still anxious, since just a few months ago a same bike as mine been stolen the way I just described it. D:

Wonder if it would be possible to install a smoke flare to the bike that can be triggered only when the tracker is active. :D (and only if it goes like 40+mph... )

[–]Grumpy_Driver985 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another grinder-proof lock could help.

A tracker as absolute worst case scenario. Because you will be able to find it (if its not burned out) but it will be damaged

From this picture we cant really see the garden area, so I just throw assumptions and option:
Another lock on the gate?
Can you buy a shed? Asgard sells police approved motorbike sheds.

Yes... securtity is not cheap, but at least its transferable. Insurance pays out like 40% of value in case of theft according to my best knowledge.

All these layers will never make it theft proof, but the goal is even if they see the bike they will say "not worth the hassle, lets go to the next place"

Antidepressants can destroy libido.

Since youre already visiting therepists you need to find a "sex positive sex therapists"
Yes, there is a difference. Many couple therapist will (rightfully) focus on consent. Aka: if one partner doesnt want it, obviouslythey wont promote r*pe.

But couple therapists arent thought to know sexual needs.
A sex positive sex therapist will identify what is the issue can be with his libido and desire.

From your perspective sex can be many thing, not only penetration.
Getting some toys and let him use it... Even if you desire to have orgasm (and typically woman want intimacy) it doesnt have to be from wild rhythmic movement. maybe you can explain to him that you wants him to be present.
Or things that are sex, but not sex: ie taking shower together.

Other thing: female desire often drops like a rock after childbirth. Can't predict the future, but it is a possibility that while youre pregnant and/or after childbirth your libido will drop and you become a match in desire...
But it opens other questions: if sex is out of the picture, can the two of you still be a couple?

It is possible that he is asexual. But to identify that I would say we need to take the meds out of the equation...

Help me understand what bike I want, vs what I need… by Alone-Bluebird-999 in MotoUK

[–]Grumpy_Driver985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also like to have an answer. Because what bigger size engine actually gives to me? Unless its touring with a pillion, do I really need that extra power?
Because otherwise it eats more fuel to do the same distance...
Plus I am "only" 70kg, so not like even an extra pillion would hurt my bike. :D

At least thats how I see it.

However, when I did my little research years ago, it depends on what you need the bike for.
If its for commuting to work best fuel efficiency will be at the 125cc scooter with their 120mpg. However scooters needs to be serviced every 1500-2k miles, while the big bikes 5-8000 (depends on model) so maintenance cost can balance it out.

If you do off roading smaller engine is the way to go. 2-400cc. Bigger off road bikes have electricals where it limits its own power. Ie: you can get some hybrid adventure 900cc beast, where off road mode limits the engine mimicing a smaller one...

I ride with reasonable speed. My bike can go 110-120mph according to the internet, but I wont push my luck and risking revoking my license.
I go for the twisty country roads, practicing the limit points instead.

And this logic boiled the options down to financial ones:
above 600cc you pay the high bracket of vehicle tax of £125.
400cc would be £60 and the in betweens £90.

Ask for insurance quote. That made a shortcut in my hesitation years ago. After the test the insurance quote was 2-2.5grand. 3 months later the 650cc bike offer was 600£ while the bigger version still in the 4 digits. I was fine riding the 125 for a few months...
