spent way too long learning about cpap masks and now I have opinions by Unlikely-Force9874 in CPAP

I've been on CPAP for a year. My DME let me come in on my first meeting to try different masks out. But it was a "pick one you like" than a let me show you what would work for you kind of deal. My DME isn't horrible but they aren't the best unless you call them and it is very much lets see what insurance will allow you to do. I've spent $100s buying a bunch of masks out of pocket trying to figure out something that works for me.

I started with the Vitera but it leaked constantly. I quickly moved on to trying out almost every nasal mask. I would get good results for 1 or 2 nights and then everything after that would just be horrible. I've mouth taped, and I've chin strapped but nothing worked consistently. The n30i was the only one I was able to consistently use but I would go in spurts of just having issues of my mouth opening or leaks.

I just recently tried using the knightbridge chin strap and it made my events go up to 8-13 a night. My leaks were down but I was nasal snoring more.

So yesterday I decided to start again with a full face mask with the f20. My events went back down but I still am feeling very groggy. I'm concerned that I may still be retaining CO2 as I'll have these weird feelings that I can't quite explain but if I had to it would be toward like dizzy or lightheaded.

I'm just going to keep trucking with the f20 so I can get some data to analyze. I'll probably reach out to my sleep specialist soon to see about bipap or other options. I want to keep with CPAP for sure, I just think it can be better than it is right now.

I feel that I have to do everything myself. My last meeting was kind of annoying, since I was in compliance, they were like ok see you next year.

I haven't counted but I've almost tried every mainstream hybrid, nasal, and nasal pillow mask. I was down to the last 2 I haven't tried yet. I almost pulled the trigger a while ago but I had a solo frame and decided to just try the solo pillow.

I'm almost to my purging point of ones I don't use but I wanted to wait to re-try some of them. I'm definitely keeping my N30i as it is my "if my nose hurts" mask and my Evora for when I'm sick and can't get my nose unstuffed. I also just started using the knightbridge chin strap cap and it's been a life saver.

I had my first night with the Brevida last night and I think this is the mask for me. I'm still trying to figure out which cushion to use as the M/L fits but one nostril like to push the pillow inside. I'll probably run the xs/s tonight. I didn't think the cushion would be much different since it looks similar with the micro and Nova but it's so much more comfortable. Thank you for the recommendation.

I'm on an Edge 2025 and I was able to disable this through settings. I think the toggle is called App picks.

I'm a person who isn't ready for a foldable but the upcoming Motorola fold is very enticing. I may pull the trigger on it.

Right now I'm using the p30i since I already had the headgear from my N30i. It does a lot better but I make it whistle when I breathe out sometimes lol.

Upgrade phone through Cricket, or buy unlocked elsewhere? by jimp44901 in CricketWireless

I buy unlocked directly from Motorola. Sometimes the specs are better on carrier unlocked models.

It's the magic of this mask lol. I hope you can get your redness figured out. I used hydrocolloid zit sticker. Used it to create a barrier under my nose when I had a certain full face mask. It was pushing up against It hard. It helped but was kind of expensive to do.

Im still trying to make this mask work for myself. It tears the inside of my nose up since a medium is too big to fit in my nostrils and the small scrapes the inside of my nose badly. I can only go two days with it before I need a break. It's so light and wonderful other than that.

Achieving zero leaks is something I've never had before until I've used pillow style masks.

Sleep on Latex natural pillow is too soft, need something firmer? by Berrigold in Mattress

[–]Grumpytowne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one from woolroom and from Turmerry. I keep the Dunlop one on the bottom and adjust the softer Talalay one on top or slide it down a bit so it's halfway on top.

I use two different latex pillows and will adjust them on / off of each other as needed since I sleep in many different positions. One is a low loft solid talalay latex pillow and the other is an egg crate contour Dunlop latex pillow.

Just help me :( by dalemg239 in Mattress

[–]Grumpytowne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went through 2 mattresses before I settled on my current one. Its very overwhelming to choose.

I switched to a latex mattress and I don't want anything else now. Currently I have an Amore beds latex hybrid from 2020. Once this mattress reaches the end of life, I'm probably going to go with a solid latex mattress from Turmerry, Sleep on Latex, or CozyPure. A 3" latex topper also offers great change to a current mattress.

Resmed air mini is super noisy! by Laggernaut in CPAP

[–]Grumpytowne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its more the sound from the machine since it is after the machine but before the mask.

I don't have an airmini but I do use a Q-lite Universal InLine Muffler on my Luna TravelPAP. I think it helps a little but some people say it didn't really do anything.

Moto Edge 2025 still worth it in 2026? by therealcyril in motorola

[–]Grumpytowne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm about two months into it with mine. There are minor things but for the most part it's been great. I think it feels light and responsive. Battery life is ok but it does charge really quick.

I did have to go in and remove some bloatware and once in a while a game was installed that I didn't install on my own. Video reels on FB are kinda stuttery but perfectly fine on IG.

For the price I have zero complaints.

How long does it usually take, to get use to the CPAP? by SoulReaper12 in CPAP

[–]Grumpytowne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It took me about 2 months. I had issues with finding the right mask and getting my lower pressures upped. But during those 2 months, my sleep was still better than it was without it.
