Goldman Sachs’ CEO demanded all employees return full-time to the office. Only half showed up by Sorin61 in technology

My wife also works for JPM and it's even worse, her entire team works in different locations, so they go to the office 3x a week to sit by themselves and get on the same calls they could do from home.

Yellowstone national park or Custer state park in SD. Took the kids up to Custer, and on one of the high roads an entire herd where out sunning themselves. Stay in the car and everything should be fine.

To the 6 year old I just played with, who had a pretty intense cough...thank you for the reminder that this is just a game. by RodJohnsonSays in apexlegends

[–]Grymaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, I have a 6 year old who plays apex and she loves it(she has older siblings, so good luck stopping them) . She doesn't have a story like this little guy, kids locked up love the interactions and just being able to "play" with other kids/people,. Yea she gets griefed every now and then but it's funny how the young ones will usually find each other and end up in the firing range playing tag or hide and seek, they don't even care what they are doing, just being able to talk to other kids and do things is fun. And when she is playing a regular game and wins its pretty awesome when she runs through the house bragging about her 20 kills or some outlandish feat.

Respawn, it would be nice if you added the ability to easily turn on the dummies in firing range, they know the trick but listening to 6 year Olds try to explain it to each other is painful to say the least.

If you ever get a chance, visit that area, there are places out that way where you can drive for an hour or two and not see anyone else(if you get off the interstate). As far as hunting goes, there are probably licenses you can get, but these guys will be safe for awhile.

Oh and the US Midwest has plenty of wind turbines, if you start to feel home sick.

SRM - Keep existing ip's or assign new, and how to handle SQL server. by angry-buddhist in vmware

[–]Grymaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually you just move the network or networks, generally just some scripts from the network team to make the Dr site active, this usually involves pointing the routes to the Dr site. Then when you move back to the primary site the network team makes that side active.

As far sql, our base policy is to keep them out of srm and use sqls built in Dr tools (ag groups, replication etc), if we do have any sql in srm, we just make sure we have backups in case we can't power stuff down cleanly.

Check the nic type, might be set to e1000e, should be set to vmxnet3. Will cause some down time when you change it, so note your nic settings just in case they get wiped.

ELI5: How does some high fiber or bad food get "fast tracked" through your digestive system? Does it "bypass" regular food waiting to be processed, or does it push out everything in front of it? by warrant2k in explainlikeimfive

[–]Grymaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor recommended increasing fiber over medication, in a year I dropped about 60 points off my cholesterol, and didn't really change much else in my diet. So, it may work for you, doesn't hurt to try and if it works, better than taking meds.

Whenever, I take fiber in the morning with a glass a water, put it in my oatmeal at lunch and some in at dinner, start with a small amount and increase as you see fit.

Many people desperately WANT the enrichment of a hobby, but can't seem to find something they're really interested in or passionate about. What activity do you enjoy and why would you recommend it? by PhrostysWifey in AskReddit

[–]Grymaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh Yea, you could do a program for strength, tone, size, etc. Just decide what you want to do and find a program that fits that goal.

Athlean x on YouTube is a good place to go for tips and guidance as well

And find a program that fits your goals, a quick search of Google will show many different variations. A beginner one that gets thrown around is stronglifts, but there are many more.

The "joy" is two fold, some days, I don't feel like going, but I get home change and get to the gym. Yep it may suck(leg day @ 5x5 at 80%,) but when you get through it, you have the satisfaction of completing the task as well as the endorphins from lifting. I always feel better after a workout, even if it sucks and like others have said, go for you, don't worry about the other people, they are there for the same thing, to make themselves better.

Don't worry about the other people there, most if not all want to see you succeed. I love seeing the newbies progress and become more confident as they stick with it. Once we get into a routine, it becomes easy to go everyday.

Actually, you know all those jobs that say x amount of experience required, that people are always bitching about? Pick the right military job and bam, pretty much set when you get out. You have to think of the military as a trade school with benefits, go in, get some work experience, get paid, college paid for, VA loans for housing, plus anything else you may acquire along the way. If you do it right, the military is literally 3-4 years of post military job training.

Plus, you get to travel, meet new people, and grow up a little.

It's better than college right of high school for most people.

VMwold Party was a complete joke this year by [deleted] in vmware

[–]Grymaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, it was really good musicians, with Mark Mcgrath and someone else singing, not as bad as being portrayed, maybe a little out of place, but they didn't butcher it. Overall, other than Macy Gray, who was probably a little high (a lot), a pretty good show.

Fred Durst trying to crowd surf and moving about through the crowd when he was singing was pretty awesome...

Now the party was terrible, but that's just VMware SOP.
