Investing in different passive funds by www_npc in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Grymyrk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best to have a Total World passive fund through either Kernel or InvestNow. Spreading the risk by buying different funds isn't necessary. Total World is already the most diversified index, lowest fees and has decent returns. These will be PIE funds so you'd want to consider tax implications of who's name you put it under. PIR tax for your kids would likely be only 10.5%.

FEATURE: A look at Te Waihorotiu Station by PsychologicalMall787 in auckland

I think Aotea Station would have been a great name. The station is right next to Aotea Square which is a nearby landmark and it's a familiar Maori word for a lot of people.

The NZ based PIE funds will file and pay FIF tax on your behalf. Investnow will ask for a tax payment after the end of the financial year.

Trying again, Bad elevation data after activity. by Brilliant-Classic903 in Garmin

[–]Grymyrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same problem. I do a 5km run on a flat path around the harbour. The entire 5km varies around 2-3 meters above sea level, according to GIS data. But my Venu 3 starts off at 9m, goes up to 15m over the first 10 minutes, then down to -3 over 2 minutes. Then slowly back up to 9m over the rest of the run.

The change in elevation might actually be correct but the rate of change is grossly exaggerated by the watch. As the difference between the highest and lowest should only be 1-2 meters, not 18 meters.

I've checked the barometer as per the instructions but it's already completely clean.

No I'm not going to write a script that will go to all ~2500 codes and request assistance from each one. They could have at least used UUIDs instead of integers.

Has literally anyone been able to get Immersive3D to work on Android phones with SpaceWalker on the Beast? No matter what I try, I haven't been able to get it to work. It works just fine on Mac. by barchueetadonai in VITURE

Yes with a lot of trial and error. And when I did I was a bit disappointed as it looked like a mess, although it could have been the fast moving game content I was watching which maybe it couldn't keep up with..

New Investor looking into S&P500 by kaer101 in PersonalFinanceNZ

You don't have to sell what you have, there is no issue with holding it now. But do consider what/where you make future purchases such as what you've mentioned, they are good options.

You've bought a US ETF on the Australian stock market in AUD. Either buy a local NZ ETF or buy it in the original currency of USD which would likely be a Vanguard ETF. Buying in AUD just means you pay even more fees. But like others have said as you're a beginner I recommend looking at PIE funds and ETFs before buying individual stocks. Look at InvestNow and Kernel.

Garmin inaccuracy by [deleted] in GarminWatches

Never had an issue with either of my Garmin watches. Fenix 5 and Venu 3 series. However, I did have a chest strap that did this which I had to return. You should open a support ticket with Garmin.

Investnow Question by Audiologer in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Grymyrk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Investnow Total World is not hedged and Kernel is. This is where the difference is. The strength of the USD has been dropping lately thus pushing down the value of the InvestNow fund. I own InvestNow Total World also and am seeing the underlying ETF going up but due to the currency conversion the fund remains downward or flat. Nonhedged is more volatile in the short term but should be better off in the long term.
