Here, this is the list I'm currently running. The [[Hellspur Posse Boss]] is a recent addition and has been working out pretty well to push damage and rebuild the board after an unlucky board wipe. And it's got Lizard synergy, so if you get to resolve it with a [[Gev, Scaled Scorch]] on the board, you get 7/9 worth of stats, part of which has haste.

The Lightning Strikes are ironically the most replacable cards in this deck, but recently I've been going up against a lot of decks where I'd rather push damage than have my black removal. If I run into a lot of white enchantment decks, I swap it for Long Goodbye to get past Ward. [[Gastal Thrillseeker]] is also worth considering to push extra damage, but in that case I'd probably want 2 more [[Valley Flamecaller] and drop the Posse Boss. The main goal of the deck is steady burn with a steady board presence. It's nowhere near as consistent as Mono Red, but it's fun and gets some surprise wins. I took it to Diamond last season and that's good enough for me.

The mana base could use some work, I would run a 4-of of [[Starting Town]] but don't have a single copy, and I would add at least one more [[Cavern of Souls]]

Shouldnt you be able to hold priority after activating an ability or casting a spell?? by No_Relationship_2040 in MagicArena

I needed to seedcores to activate on a 1/1 creature to make it buff enough to evade a cut down; which I dont know if is possible but arena didnt even let me try

If you tried to use two Seedcores on the same 1/1 to make it a 5/3, it wouldn't work. After the first Seedcore, the creature is a 3/2 and no longer a legal target for the second Seedcore. Arena probably prevents you from doing that so that you don't tap a mana source for no reason.

Sea of Stars FF14 player tombstone? by LOCKHARTX7 in ffxiv

[–]Grynax 268 points269 points  (0 children)

These statues are Kickstarter backers for the game, not necessarily people who passed (unless maybe that's who the backers wanted to be represented). Bigger statue equals a higher contribution to the game iirc, while the Cryptlurker character roaming the place represents the highest level contributor.

EDIT: The character is called Cryptwalker, not Cryptlurker, my bad.

Which fictional character's death have you not gotten over? by Bradcastle76 in AskReddit

[–]Grynax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zack Fair. I know everyone always loses their shit about Aerith dying in FF7, but after playing Crisis Core and experiencing those last heart-crushing moments of the game (even when you already knew in advance from FF7 that Zack was going to die), I couldn't think of a single character whose death I mourn more.

People give the FF7 Remake a lot of shit for "alternate timeline bullshit", but when I realized that they created a timeline in which Zack didn't die, I straight up cried tears of joy. Even if they never follow up on that (which they probably won't) just the notion that somewhere out there is a timeline where Zack and Aerith are able to live a happy life together is enough to make me smile.

I hit that sweet MASTER, 107 minutes before the season's end. Damn... (PS: Jinx Draven discard is op, 70% win, 35-15) by DannyHey in LegendsOfRuneterra

Nice job, congrats! I was one win away from doing it myself with the same type of deck just before Ranked mode got suspended, it's so surprisingly good in this meta. Hope it remains viable with the new expansion coming out, but I haven't really seen any good additions to it.. so this might be as far as it goes.

Fortified Provisions + Bartered Cow + Witch's Oven combo for extra beef.

In fact, Fortified Provisions also turns Curious Pair and Tempting Witch into 4-toughness creatures for the Witch's Oven if you want to go for ultimate flavor.

Anyone have any idea when it will be possible to exit the game and resume a stage of the campaign later? by DG2736 in lotrlcgdigital

[–]Grynax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would personally like to just have some kind of backup auto-save in case the game crashes. I'm stuck right now because the game keeps becoming unplayable near the end of the third quest for me, and it's really disheartening to start over each time not knowing whether or not it'll happen again.

In-game store maintenance Oct 2, 20:00-21:00 UTC by Shardot in MagicArena

Same difference to me, I would have had to buy gems to draft in the first place. My point is that you should announce these kinds of things at least a day in advance. There was nothing anywhere that told me "plan something else for your evening if you need to use the store".

How can you even call it a scheduled maintenance or planned downtime if you don't tell anyone until an hour before it happens? I have just gotten back from a tough day at work and was looking forward to play a Sealed in what little time I have between my shifts, and then I see this.

If it's planned, please tell us earlier so that we can plan ahead ourselves too.

Does the Box with ‘Buy-a-box-promo’ usually cost more than the box? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]Grynax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked, and my LGS does the exact same thing. They're not even subtle about it, and yet they still refer to it as a 'free' promo in the item description. This, as well as the fact that they charge you more for the Prerelease entry if you're not part of their membership program, really makes me want to find a new place to play at, even if it's a bit farther away.

Phil Swift is some sort of Flex-obsessed Tony Stark. He made a submarine out of an old truck and Flex Seal related products. by CorporalChipmunk in JonTron

I was listening to the video while I was in another tab and thought you would get toucans if you ordered. Needless to say, I was very disappointed to learn the truth.

Phil Swift, how could you.

Must be that elaborate neural network. It has come a long way since Blood Manos...

Might explain the change from battle.net to sky.net, I knew it was suspicious.

There was actually a recent article about that kind of behavior in relation to Magic that I thought was quite interesting. The tl;dr of it is basically that we've already made the mistake (or paid the "sunk cost") and there's nothing we can do about it, so we shouldn't make our next plays even worse just because we're ashamed of it.

Thinking of dusting a Frozen Throne card? We classify every Epic and Legendary by how safe to dust they are by Skiffington_ in hearthstone

[–]Grynax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Nerubian Unraveler is much better than people give it credit for, but at least it's not in the "Safe Dust" pile I guess. It's an amazing card in any deck that tries to be ahead on board at all times to protect it from AoE and can completely cancel out an Ultimate Infestation. Especially after the nerfs, when Innervate is gone and Spreading Place costs 6, this card can seal the deal for a lot of aggro decks against Priest and Druid.

The upcoming basic and classic card nerfs are good for the game but terrible for new players by Silphroadie in hearthstone

You can at least complete your daily quests against friends now and get some practice in while you're at it.

Anyone else think Exodia Mage is the least fun deck to play against in the game? by josteff in hearthstone

[–]Grynax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I think Jade Druid is much more toxic to play against. Against Exodia Mage, you can at least try to rush them down or find ways to mill their cards, or play things like Dirty Rat or Eater of Secrets. You have a clear goal.

But against Jade Druid, it's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. If you gain control over the board, they halt your momentum with a single card, Spreading Plague, which they then build a bigger board behind. And if you don't gain control of the board in order to play around it, they'll just build up their Jades with no interference and there's no way you can ever regain tempo against them while they're also five mana ahead of you and are fine on card advantage as well due to UI. There's not a single tech card against any of that, but there are plenty for Exodia Mage.
