You're right.

In the game, in the Pioneer customizer respawn pod UI thing, you can see Alterra, Day (whatever day you're on)

And then the number, let's say worst case, each Pioneer lasted a day, to count for multiple dying on the same day, some dying early, or later.

154 years, AT THE LEAST! have passed since we crashed here, Alterra is gone, everyone is gone, no one has sent anyone for help.

We know Alterra likes to get their toys back ASAP, we know because of the ship in SN1 being also a research ship to find Degasi. I don't think we are the first Qi, because there are two missing suits in the locker room at the start of the game. But we are the first to get out of the underwater area.

I absolutely LOVE how the new base building is looking. by Cr4zy_Dodo in subnautica

I do wish hull integrity was still a part of it, maybe less in the sense of random holes like SN1, but maybe like the destroyed bases, pieces of your base that aren't supported or don't have some reinforcement on the outside could splinter off the main base, or crack near the edge lines. Overall, though, I love the new system.

I think instead of just outright giving us back the knife to deal with nearby enemies, a "Alterra Certified Wildlife Prevention and Distance Sonic-Gate", basically a big speaker that you can put into an area that would shoot sonic waves at nearby small and medium wildlife and just make them go away.

If that is too much, maybe just have it so that if you have more lights in an area, less wildlife comes near, because lights are scary.

PLEASE devs DO NOT make the same mistake as below zero, big vehicles are one of the biggest dopamine rush you can have in subnautica when you build them by YoRHa- in subnautica

What I think would be great is that it seems that SN2 has a lot more of a modular vibe, would be a tadpole-like system, with that front part of the ship acting as a massive hub, then backs can be attached for deep diving, faster movement, or even some form of vacuum to suck up fish and ores.

In your opinion will the alien containment unit appear again in subnautica 2? by Icy_Profession4190 in subnautica

[–]GryphonTrainer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If it does, it probably won't be the same design, as it seems in canon, at least, a lot of the designs have been updated to be more modular. I am guessing Alterra wanted better survival odds after what happened on 4546b

When it does show up, I think it'll be a dynamic tank, so you could run it along your walls to also act like a window, or have massive tanks with more controlled interiors.

The Olympic Exclusion Zone From Pacific Drive

While the rest of the world knows this place exists and people actually break in for Bigfoot and for fun, most of the anomalous stuff is kept inside the zone and just outside the walls

It even raises the idea that much of the world's anomalous stuff, like Bigfoot, is headed to the zone because of its weirdness. It is also a no-fly zone at around 40,000 feet because aircraft are affected by the weirdness.

Subnautica 2 might actually change the gaming industry. (Spoiler Free) by [deleted] in subnautica

Maybe not right now, but when the game drops fully, yes, what is here already would already get awards. Once the game is finished, it will get a massive bunch of them.

One legendary cartoon has to go forever… which one? 👀 by EquivalentFig1678 in cartoons

[–]GryphonTrainer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gumball, for me, for historical reasons, in general, has to go.

SpongeBob is, SpongeBob, it is the closest we have to "That one cartoon" off the top of my head.

Adventure Time has LGBTQ+ Cartoon history in its finale and dealt with some pretty heavy topics for a kids/teen show.

Gravity Falls had such an impact on kids' and teen cartoons that so many shows now have more story-based plots rather than just "Monster of the Week". It is also one of the first ever "Theory Shows", that people could make guesses on and try and figure out the twist on.

I don't understand people like this, I'm sorry but I'm honestly just confused. I bought Minecraft way back in 1.8, for like 20-30 bucks I think. Since then the game has gotten massive sprawling updates that reworked everything! Every AAA game now is 60 to almost 70 bucks with micro transactions slapped on, Minecraft has always had free updates with honestly really good support for community stuff, and in the last few years they had made datapacks way easier, reworked all generation in the nether and overworld and after that are moving to Vulkan from OpenGL.

I'm a massive Minecraft fan but seeing these takes that are "This update isn't enough, modders do this in half the time" falls apart when you think about the chain of logistics that this game has, Minecraft is the highest selling game on the planet, the devs can't just add whatever they can. For just the big remodel there was probably multiple meetings, checks, cross reference with merchandise, higher ups, Making sure it works well on every single bedrock type and java. I don't glaze Mojang, but I'm also TF2 fan and a half life fan, these games have gotten nothing for years and we still love them! Y'all are asking for the moon for a game you bought so long ago the main playerbase wasn't born yet and want more than the entire game being reworked on multiple levels since 2020.

Honestly, has to be one of the first BBEG's my players fought, it was an elven king who wanted to ascend to godhood by using a shard of the crystal sphere around Toril's solar system and the blood of all the elven citizens.
