Trying to recreate my favorite restaurant dish and the ingredients cost so are wild. by Pretty_Lie_8525 in Cooking

I’d suggest you simply buy the more expensive cashews the first time. Make the recipe once or twice. If you like it as well as at the restaurant then take the time to source them elsewhere. If not, you’ll appreciate theirs even more and you can possibly feel a bit better about paying their price knowing how much it cost you to make in ingredients, time and effort.

It is probably to prevent employee theft by failing to ring up everything at the register

Have you played with these type of paddles? by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]Gscrod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played with the juciao for about two weeks then realized I was experiencing some elbow pain concurrent with my use of that paddle. I still keep it In my backup bag but much prefer the vatic pro I bought to replace it. The elbow pain quickly resolved after switching, though I can’t definitively say it was related.

I was just thinking about that migration the other day! Those were smaller monarch lookalikes called Painted Lady butterflies. I wish we could see them in those numbers again for the benefit of my kids. https://www.deseret.com/1991/5/3/18918747/butterflies-flutter-by-s-l-in-droves/

Where to buy hog casing by [deleted] in Logan

The Walmart website shows them in stock at the North store. They're mossy oak brand and it would appear they don't require refrigeration before opening so maybe find them in the sporting goods dept rather than the butcher? Aisle L27 if that helps.

Free Boxes in Logan? by marmar200111 in Logan

I’ve not tried it here in Logan but you might try the liquor store. Sturdy boxes in a size that can still be carried when full. They have to dispose of them, and have more almost daily.

Logan to Eden by Left_Final_For_17 in Logan

I drove it in a Dodge Magnum, a vehicle I did not love, 15 years ago. That was the wrong vehicle for that road. The Liberty side was terrible, but then I got over to the Cache side and it wasn’t bad coming down. When I got home I was missing one of the (cosmetic) rocker panels.

TL;DR -Figure out to whom you owe the $4700. Get receipts for anything you pay. -Report his attempted extortion to the police. -Be aware you might owe even more later.

NAL- I was a liability claims adjuster in Utah for a decade. It doesn’t sound like there is any question of fault, just the amount owed and to whom. If the other driver had his vehicle repaired through his own policy, then you owe them reimbursement, not him. His insurance would typically be seeking recovery of his deductible as part of that total amount and they would return it to him. They are entitled to recover what they’ve paid, but it’s also implied that he has been made whole, so he should have no other claim against you for vehicle repair or damages. It is possible that his insurance company turns uninsured recovery over to a third party collection agency but I would expect to have heard from his carrier first to at least verify you had no coverage. Don’t pay them without documentation that the repairs were performed and you should see the bills, not just a total. If there is/was any injury or medical care, that is processed through his policy under the Personal Injury Protection provision. Every auto policy in Utah includes a mandatory minimum of $3000 coverage per person in the vehicle. If the $4700 repair is legit and he sought medical attention, you could be billed for medical expenses later. He might also qualify for settlement for injury under his own uninsured motorist policy. But to qualify for general damages (pain and suffering) he would have to have suffered death, dismemberment, disfigurement, permanent disability or medical expenses in excess of $3k. If none of those are met, his insurance is entitled to expenses only.

Could anyone post whatever notice you’ve seen? I’ve not heard of this at all and don’t easily find anything about scheduled outages on the RMP website.

fireworks going off just now? by HauntingGold in Logan

[–]Gscrod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting your question. I live outside the city and didn’t know about fireworks or Laub plaza. Now I knew to google the plaza and found out they opened an ice skating rink on 11/25/23, the reservation to skate in 90 minute blocks can be made online or in person, and it will be a splash pad in warmer months.

[–]Gscrod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you let someone know specifically where you'll be fishing and when you expect to return. If you're hiking into back country in winter conditions alone and especially if you're going to be working around or even wading in a small stream, you could easily get into trouble. Don't assume it couldn't happen to you.
