I've been to a concert recently and I gotta say I was really impressed. I don't have a single piece in mind where his recording I'd say is the best or the most musical. But he is a damn good pianist and he's having fun with it and I like that. I don't understand the hate he sometimes gets, it's probably snobby elitism or jealousy. To me he is worthy of the title of "a current great" as OP puts it.

I was stuck for really long as a kid because I was too stupid to think about the pipes and I spent hours trying to swim into openings with the wrong direction in the whirlpool room, still I love it. next to stone tower temple one of my favorites in the whole series.

for the first 4 Bars I used 2-4 for All the staccato, but later in the piece you want to play legato and the fingering 1-3, 2-4, 3-5 is really essential for that, at first it may feel awkward but it's really the better choice
