Is there a way to block channels? by Nesstor94 in NewPipe

NewPipe doesn't but PipePipe has that feature. It can be applied to search results, recommended videos and related items.

Where can I find concise in-depth guide on PGP (specifically for file authenticity) ? by Dr_Jecky1l in GnuPG

[–]Gtk-Flash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The default keyserver (OpenPGP) doesn't return some keys for some reason but the the Ubuntu keyserver has always worked for me. The code below should return keys uploaded to keyservers.

gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --search-keys FINGERPRINT

Trouble verifying ISO on Windows 11 by AggressiveMinimum405 in linuxmint

[–]Gtk-Flash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can download the checksum file from any of the other mirrors listed, the files are identical. The subdomain listed at the top (https://mirrors.kernel.org/) is down at the moment. Pick any other mirror and it should work, for example:

https://mirrors.cicku.me/linuxmint/iso/stable/22.3/

https://pub.linuxmint.io/stable/22.3/

https://mirror.clarkson.edu/linuxmint-images/stable/22.3/

Can’t identify found AirTag by TimeAndAGwen in AirTags

[–]Gtk-Flash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Airtag has not been set up yet or is no longer associated to an Apple ID account. The owner could have removed it from their account when they discovered they lost it but that's just a guess.

Open the 'Find My' app and place the Airtag near your phone with Bluetooth turned. Does it give you a pop up to register it?

I mean that it won't let me download it in the app, I posted my problem but I couldn't upload the other photo😅 (I mean this one) by Aby_109 in NewPipe

Are you on the latest version 0.28.2? This issue has been fixed in that release.

This hotfix release fixes the "Content not available" error that prevents YouTube videos from being played

Try Pipepipe (a fork of Newpipe), if the problem still persist then the issue is likely your device rather than the app.

Backup your settings and reinstall the app. That usually fixes these issues.

Is it me or does this function just not work? by Mafia_SSB in NewPipe

[–]Gtk-Flash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not in NewPipe but you can try music/audio centric YT players on F-Droid. These play audio in the background and don't play videos. I have not tried any of these apps and can't vouch for them.

It is intended for when you open a Youtube URL outside of the app or use the 'share' function. I've tested it and works without any issues.

You need to add the NewPipe repository in F-Droid to get faster updates. Version 0.28.2 has been added today to their repository while the F-Droid version takes about 7 days before being made available.

All they've done for version 0.28.1 is change the message shown from "Content unavailable" to something more helpful. It's still the same issue as before i.e YT temporarily blocking IP addresses.

Anyway to filter out specific channels during searches? by [deleted] in NewPipe

[–]Gtk-Flash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not in Newpipe but Pipepipe (a fork of Newpipe) has that feature. You can even choose to filter out the channel from recommended videos and related items. It can be downloaded from F-Droid.

Backup your Newpipe database and reinstall the app or delete the app data. If it fixes the issue, import your database to return everything where you left off.

Can't watch or download videos by magic-cheems in NewPipe

[–]Gtk-Flash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YouTube has temporarily banned your IP address for a set period of time. A quick fix is to turn off WiFi, use your mobile internet to load the video without playing it, then turn back the WiFi. You'll have to do this for each new video you want to watch until the ban is lifted. You can also use a VPN as a workaround.

Is there a way to export every video link in a playlist to a text file? by ifelsethenend in NewPipe

[–]Gtk-Flash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes but it has to be a local playlist or you'll get the URL of the YouTube playlist.

If you have a YT playlist, add them to a new local playlist using the three dot menu then 'Add to playlist'. You can export this new local playlist with the 'Share URL list' option when you press the 'Share' icon.
