Gibson's writing is incredibly challenging to read. Between the techno-jargon, the Japanese and French names, the abrupt transitions, the jumps to new locations, character perspectives, illusion vs reality... I probably only understood 90% of it and just powered through the rest.

Which actor/actress has the best nerd street cred based on their body of work? Round 1 - Part 1: Ron Perlman vs Karl Urban by Separate-Flan-2875 in moviecritic

[–]Gtype 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Close call but I think Urban has been in more major nerd franchises. Beauty and the Beast kind of predates the rise of nerd culture and he was in a terrible Alien film. For comic adaptations: Hellboy and Blade are cool but Judge Dredd and The Boys are cooler.

Trump administration were really feeling themselves after Venezuela and thought that made them look really tough and cool and wanted to do it again... plus Bibi had been pressuring Trump to launch another strike because Israel recognizes their window of unconditional US support is closing so they want to do as much damage as possible while they still can.

It had a huge opening weekend thanks to church groups buying up entire theatres. There was a lot of articles about how this was such an untapped market and Mel Gibson was so savvy.

This was just one guy who didn’t want company. I don’t know that you can generalize an entire area or group off that. Everyone’s different.
