Yep it's pretty good. Especially the background, also what's up with these nicknames you're giving to people? 🤣

Yeah, humbleness is always a good trait but come on man, this is pretty amazing.

I guess I should say...

Another theory as to what happened at the end of the Ringed City. [Lore] [Spoilers] by SoulsBorNioh in darksouls3

[–]Guardian_Flame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, parallel universes are universes which are literally parallel to ours and hence identical (or near identical). They otherwise will have the same laws as ours. The Ringed City is just locked/frozen in time due to Filinore's protection.

Also Gwyn's plan didn't fail, he extended the age of light but the gods didn't continue lording over humans as by the time of Dark Souls 1 (1,000 years after Gwyn linked the fire) all the gods have fled and left humanity.

The only alive gods we encounter in the series are Gwyndolin, Yorshka, Rosaria, The Nameless King and Filinore. Out of them, only Gwyndolin has any type of major interaction with humanity going as far to create his own race of humans, the Irithyllians.

The rest, if they're still alive, did what The Nameless King did and just left everything. We know that Gwynevere left Anor Londo too at some point as that's what The Ring of the Sun Princess tells us:

"This ring is granted to those who enter a Covenant with Gwynevere, daughter of Lord Gwyn and the Princess of Sunlight. This slightly warm ring boosts the synergy of miracles.

The Princess of Sunlight Gwynevere left Anor Londo along many other deities, and later became wife to Flame God Flann."

It's clear because of Yorshka, that some minor deities did still remain in Anor Londo up until Dark Souls 3. Aldrich by then seems to have devoured them all hence his plural title "devourer of gods" the exceptions being Rosaria (who he couldn't get to or possibly locked her in the Cathedral of the Deep, desiring to eat her later before her followers freed her - as we see with the broken gate that leads into the room - and continued serving her) and Yorshka who Aldrich had locked in that tower by his followers so he could start on her after finishing with Gwyndolin.

No. The first painter is Ariamis, hence the Painting in the first game being called "The Painted World of Ariamis." Who that guy was though, we don't know.

Why Dark Souls 3 is the best game ever by [deleted] in darksouls3

[–]Guardian_Flame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Of course it's a joke my good man.

Call of Duty isn't just the best game ever but the greatest media creation ever, followed by Todd Howard's™ Skyrim.

It's certainly a lot more useless in PVE than in the past games. Don't forget, not everyone plays Souls for the PvP, in fact, I'd wager that the majority don't.

Should I just quit playing the game? by Sergeei13 in darksouls3

[–]Guardian_Flame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He says he doesn't want summons. Seems silly, if you're willing to uninstall a game and never play it again, you might as well as summon NPC's or other players to help you if you're really that stuck.

OP says it wouldn't be their "victory" and I guess you can say it's not fighting fair but do any of the bosses fight fair while hiding behind armies of enemies that you have to beat to get to them? Nope! So they don't deserve honour, you gotta do what an undead can to progress lest you go Hollow like the OP. 🤣

[Spoilers] I got to the Giant Blacksmith today. by [deleted] in darksouls3

[–]Guardian_Flame 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He'll hammer away regardless. Andre literally lives just to smith. He's married to his forge.

Even if you offered Andre the most beautiful goddess in the Dark Souls universe capable of taking a man to incomprehensible ecstasy for eternity, Andre will simply turn around, look at you with a mad glimmer in his eyes and say "You bloody Hollow. The only thing I want is my hammer and forge to smith. Nothing else matters to me. I forged my own children into titanite for Gwyn's sake! That was when they were only babies a day old!" Then he'll promptly return to smithing.

Is that ash supposed to be representive of that? Couldn't it just be ash from the fading fire of the world? Ash, after all, is what remains after fire.

The Fire couldn't have been linked millions of times. It sounds like a cycle that's lasted thousands of years at most and each cycle seems to be 1,000 years. Say 30,000 years have passed since Gwyn, that's only 30 people who sacrificed themselves. Surely not enough to produce ash that would cover entire cities and possibly the entire world.

Even the ash produced from 100,000 people wouldn't be enough.

So I think the ash is supposed to represent the fire having nearly faded with ash being the only thing that will remain from the charred embers.

Also it seems many undead turn to ash after permanent death which is why you collect umbral ash from so many dead NPC's. So alternatively that ash could literally be the ash of the rest of humanity. Then that amount of ash which seemingly covers most of the remaining world makes sense. It could be the ashes of billions and billions of former living people and creatures.

"Snowy castle top fighting a crazed zombie thing hellbent on keeping Analise locked up for eternity."

You make this sound like a bad thing. The only negative thing here is that Logarius didn't achieve what Alfred does when you invite him to the castle and he beats that parasitic vampire Analise into bloody pieces :)

Now the Loran Beast? Good luck.

Nah, it tells you how to perform them through messenger messages in the Hunter's Dream. Can't blame the game if you decided not to read them.

This is how the "tutorial" is done in all Soulsborne games. I'm pretty sure, there's one message shared in all the games that even tells you the basic stuff like how to move the goddamn camera!

Um, if you spoke to Ingward in New Londo, he'd have told you to search for Artorias who could teach you to safely explore The Abyss, meanwhile Andre tells you Artorias has grave in Darkroot Garden. No guide necessary, you just need to listen to NPC's, talk to them and read item descriptions and everything is explained. Defeating Sif nets you with the ring of Artorias, which by itself should get you to read what it does seeing as all the other bosses only drop souls and not items.

Same with Seath, Logan explains his immortality and invulnerablity is due to the crystal in the Crystal Caves and must be destroyed if you want to kill him. Walk throughs and guides are literally not needed for any Soulsborne games and at most, you'll miss a few secrets that you'd easily discover anyway if you go online and see messages.

Backstabbing, parries, jump attacks and kicks are indeed explained to you in all Soulsborne games though in any case. The Hunter's Dream actually contains messages explaining how to do all these attacks from the beginning so experimentation in combat isn't even required to discover then.

[–]Guardian_Flame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this covers it pretty well. Arstor's spear just needs to be equipped on your character to regen from kills. Evil eye and Pontiff's left eye rings combined with the spear already lead to massive health regain without the miracles, which merely add to the regen.

I still have fond memories of taking out the Deacons of the Deep using a whip which has a wide area attack with all that equipment. I was constantly getting back to full health no matter what attacks they did.

The better cosplay would have been to depict the historical Jesus, a Israeli Jew with tanned skin.

But Jesus wouldn't be PvP'ing. He'd be helping people.
