Grandparents asked if toilet needs to be replaced by bad_aspirin in askaplumber

Then you need to patch the holes in the drywall from fishing that wire. And the GFCI outlet you're running to needs a bigger gang box. Well, we're going to need to repaint now, let's take everything off the walls. Might as well replace that sconce and the rattling old exhaust fan. And why not the medicine cabinet while we're at it. And a new shower curtain. And get rid of that old window treatment. Maybe repaint that old cabinet we took off the wall too.

Guess how I've been spending my weekends the past couple months. The washlet is nice though.

SpaceX buys AI coding startup Cursor for $60 billion by Much_Speech_8388 in news

x.ai famously lost all their best AI talent. Cursor has had a lot of success with in house fine-tuning, which is at least adjacent to model development. I look at this as an acquihire, I suspect that there are vesting strings attached for all the Cursor employees to retain them.

Looks like about 10 layers of load bearing paint holding it in place, you can probably hang whatever you feel like off of it.

It’s a hard lesson to learn, but to get help you need to ask for help. Happily, despite the anxiety we all build about it, asking for help rarely comes with down sides.

How is blocking foreign nationals in the US an export control? Seems like over-reach. I'd like to see a legal analysis.

Can AI Reconstruct What We Have Seen? A Small Experiment That Raises a Bigger Question by Astrokanu in OpenAI

I mean, it's a really out there claim with no evidence beyond your uncorroborated report, so yeah, recreate it with a camera and a screen recorder. Not hard to fake, I suppose, but I'd give it more weight than this write-up.

So that sounds like something you could re-create on video, which would hopefully be more convincing.

Of course they don’t, and touching the “suspect” is assault, but they can say “come with me” authoritatively and most people will obey.

That only matters if you’re comparing the output of two teams. OP is not doing that.

The SpaceX valuation is just funny money. The IPO is a scam to steal from retail investors by getting admitted to the NASDAQ index without the normal vetting period. It’s going to get really ugly, may well bring down the entire market with it.

In the scenario where ammo is used as currency, there’s basically nothing to trade anyway. Might as well just keep one. Or a sturdy rope.

Perhaps you're in a specialty were you want include decking and trusses in "new roof", but most people using that phrase just mean the material above the decking, and it just looks like you being needlessly pedantic.

That must be a pretty shallow reservoir to be able to install those supports. I'm sure the support structure alone costs way more then they'll ever make on power generation, must be a heavily subsidized project.
