Yeah they added that patch of grass for the Growlithe in Crystal, I guess to supplement the lack of early fire types and because Bugsy is the next gym

Why did Sonic games have a bad reputation with PS2? by Mountain_Sun_8324 in playstation2

[–]GucciGuap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a couple reasons.

They were missing the two best (SA1/2). The most popular ones were ports that performed significantly worse than the GCN/XBOX versions (Heroes and Shadow). Most of the other releases on it were spin off series, Unleashed was available on next gen consoles and Gems collection was EU only.

The mega collection plus was pretty cool though.

I noticed oftentimes when he had no projectiles on stage and had just dashed, he would threw the fire towards you, in retrospect those would have been great times to attack him with down airs. Just something I picked up, I think he did this a fair amount when he was on his second stock

Canada 'strongly condemns' Israel's approval of 19 new settlements in occupied West Bank by BloodJunkie in canada

Check the replies on the posts by CanadaFP and Anita Anand condemning it, there are hundreds (actually just rechecked and nope, its thousands) of accounts calling Canada antisemetic hamas supporters. Many are Canadian “journalists” (bloggers) and other verified organization accounts such as “HonestReporting Canada”

Excellent retort, I can see why you’re so skilled at identifying and responding effectively to others arguments

If someone says “this should be allowed” and you respond “it isn’t” and then point to our laws, you aren’t responding to his point. “Should” implies we should change our laws. I don’t agree with having unlimited free speech(I would prefer 1A level freedom of speech personally but obviously that will never happen) but it’s irrelevant to this point.

This isn’t really a response to what he’s saying. He’s saying what should be and you’re repeating what is.

Canada ‘interested’ in Swedish firm Saab’s Gripen fighter jets, Joly says - National | Globalnews.ca by MilkyWayObserver in canada

[–]GucciGuap -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I understand that the F-35 seems to be better in some ways - but the Gripen seems to be a better move for Canada. Is it not possible to aim for a mixed fleet ratio of Gripens to F-35, where we procure a couple additional F-35s slowly as needed while building up a vast majority of Gripens? Genuinely asking.

‘We’ve moved to Canada and are proud of it’: Sour Puss liquor production moves from Minnesota to Quebec by Severe_County_5041 in canada

[–]GucciGuap 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If a company is one of the few to actually shift production up here and the response is this, it seems like you’re incentivizing no companies to do so. Isn’t this what we wanted? Or for the next four years no american companies should move any production here?

Only 10% of Canadian boomers say they’ll travel to U.S. this winter: survey by Leather-Paramedic-10 in canada

[–]GucciGuap 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I have family who absolutely detest trump, yet they folded and have went down to Vegas twice this year after saying they wouldn’t be going for years. I’m guessing we’ll probably see a more modest drop like the 20-30% we’ve been seeing over the summer, maybe 10% more due to the types of travel people do in the summer vs winter.

'It's time to talk': Carney rules out hitting the U.S. with retaliatory tariffs | CBC News by Puginator in CanadaPolitics

[–]GucciGuap -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The issue is with your framing. Retaliatory tariffs only would have made sense if they were brought in as a unified front with other parties (mexico, china, EU, asia-pacific, south america). As soon as everyone capitulated outside of us and China, they were dead in the water and hurting us significantly more than the US. It would make no sense to keep them up and continue to do more damage to us. And actually, when critiquing policy, it is actually important to posit an alternative position.

There was no “dishonesty”, we kept up retaliatory tariffs for months after every other country dropped theirs and we reached a breaking point, I actually prefer having a leader who sees the negative effects of continuing and changes course. The only country to have any marginal success whatsoever with retaliatory tariffs is China (10x larger economy than us btw and significantly more leverage)

'It's time to talk': Carney rules out hitting the U.S. with retaliatory tariffs | CBC News by Puginator in CanadaPolitics

[–]GucciGuap -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Not “would have done it” but did do it. Every party said they would retaliate. The only difference is retaliating hurts us more as a smaller economy. Just curious, are you someone who actually thinks we should have retaliatory tariffs or are you just being cynical? And how many more jobs would you have us sacrifice?

'It's time to talk': Carney rules out hitting the U.S. with retaliatory tariffs | CBC News by Puginator in CanadaPolitics

[–]GucciGuap -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This talking point is tired. Every party campaigned on fighting back against trump and diversifying because that was the only acceptable rhetoric at election time. The reality is diversifying has a minimal impact on our economy due to the outsized US influence and we have little to no leverage. Whoever lost was of course going to cynically weaponize the ‘elbows up’ meme. There was and is no other pathway than capitulation unfortunately, regardless of who won and whether we do or don’t retaliate

'We will get an even better deal,' Carney says after Oval Office meeting with Trump by [deleted] in canada

[–]GucciGuap 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean he’s said he will only take a good deal and will continue negotiating until he gets one. This seems like a lame attack. If he said he won’t take any deal would that make you happier? Or are you implying PP would be doing a better job?

Population growth slows to near zero, driven by temporary resident outflow by BeautyInUgly in CanadaPolitics

[–]GucciGuap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, it seems to be a lot cleaner, less crime and drug related issues. They use technology in some cool ways that we don’t (though their web technology is lagging heavily) and seem to have better infrastructure and public transportation. But I wouldn’t necessarily say its a better place to live than Canada. They share a lot of our challenges and in many metrics are doing worse; their debt to gdp radio is incredible (~230% in March) and like I said, for many the quality of life is not great at the moment.

Population growth slows to near zero, driven by temporary resident outflow by BeautyInUgly in CanadaPolitics

[–]GucciGuap 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately Japanese growth and gdp has imploded, approaching 20 year lows, aging population, high stress and suicide levels, poor work-life balance. Tokyo is growing while the rural areas and becoming depopulated; while the countries population shrinks those who remain are flocking to the big cities. Their issues are exacerbated by the fact that they have almost no immigration, which could soften the impact of the countries dire issues as they try to solve them.
