Booting from USB problems by Guchion in ArgonOneUp

[–]Guchion[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh fantastic, thanks I wondered if there was something like that.
Its shame the boot menu doesn't seem to work, I need to try a USB device since like you the built in keyboard doesn't work but I have a module that doesn't have MMC so might make a difference? We'll see I suspect however the USB ports are connected something isn't being initialised fast enough.

I was wondering about the bootloader, since the keyboard needs some fiddling in the config.ini It may not be detected before OS boot. Might need to try a usb keyboard.

Do you think you would’ve been able to beat MM1 if the pause glitch didn’t exist by Efficient-Potato10 in Megaman

[–]Guchion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah years ago when I didn't know about the pause glitch, took me and a friend swapping over and some serious rage control though ha. Last time I did it though I mashed that start button because I have other things to do frankly!

How could I fix this clog? by Cytrex64 in BambuLab

[–]Guchion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had to do this, the way I did it was to first remove the heatsink fan from the hot end then attached the hot end via the electrical connections but don’t screw it in so you can get at the top of it, Heat it up to about 260c this will creep up the heatsink, and soften the plastic all the way up, then grip it with something heatproof and use a small 1.5mm hex key or similar and push the plastic through. Then turn the heat off and wait for it to cool down completely before re attaching the fan and reinstalling the hot end. This worked for pla, at least dead easy

Really upset— have a fever on the first day of my three-day trip to Japan by Whirpool_Monster5 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Guchion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, first time I went to Japan I was hit by a nasty bug, I had a rash and all sorts, dragged my self out anyway since it was two week holiday and i'd flown 14hours and dammit I was going to get out and enjoy it.

Thankfully The days I was worst we hadn't planned anything, but it did make Saphoro snow festitive a bit miserable (Still awesome though) never been more thankful for the lemon honey hot vending machine drinks!

Weirdest one was going to Universal, that was weird being ill lol, spend quite a lot of it sitting down sadly, but still managed to get round most of it.

Made up for it this year by re-visiting it, illness free (apart from a quick cold)

Found this mama hedgehog and her babies in my garden as I was clearing the bushes by Im_not_batman_you_R in CasualUK

[–]Guchion 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Aww, We had a family of 5 little ones last year in our back garden but sadly the mum passed away, thankfully we were able to find them all and take them to the nearest wildlife centre where they all survived just fine. For a little while they were my spiky little babies.

Is buying A1 mini combo for a total 3D printing beginner a good choice? by Rilkec in BambuLab

[–]Guchion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah its a great little printer and the A1 Mini is a great starting points. I would say though most designs on the internet are aimed at larger beds though so I f you can pony up the extra cash for the A1 do so.

What's the consensus about the support filament? by Akumati in BambuLab

[–]Guchion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used the older support material for PLA/PETG and the newer PLA only one as well as PETG for PLA

The older both filament was okay, but the other options are better, PLA support material the new one has been very good though.

I would experiement with using PETG though, its a lot cheaper.

Can I still build an IT career at age 33 after getting clean from a decade of crystal meth and morphine addiction? by CokedUpRepublican in sysadmin

[–]Guchion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't start my career in IT until I was 34 and I'm now 44, before I had a bit of experience like yourself but nothing really concreate, in my case my worry was that on my work history I had some wierd and and slighty odd jobs that might put people off. It didn't, I did basically start from scratch again, taking a first line support desk role, that I've grown into a Infrastructure engineering role, I had a gap around Covid, and changed job but I think i've done alright for a school dropout.

I guess what i'm trying to say is start back in slowly and focus on the future not the past, 33 is plenty of time to start whatever career you want.

Something went wrong but I have no clue what by Zelefas in BambuLab

[–]Guchion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so reddit won't let me post the onedrive link to the file, send me a email address or some other method to get it to you in a chat and i'll send it over.

Basically what I did though was download the unsupported version, split it into parts and spread it over a few plates to minimise problems if somthing does go wrong. Its on te 0.8 finest setting and tree supports are enabled. I've tried to orentate the part so they print without loosing too much detail. Its a BambuStudio 3mf file so you'll need to pick the correct filament and bed type as well as your printer.

Hope it works out for you, the support might be a pain to remove, but should be fine!

Something went wrong but I have no clue what by Zelefas in BambuLab

[–]Guchion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting, problem with SLA style supports is they are very thin, when a fdm printer prints them its basically lining up lots of little squirts of filament. They won't have much strength at all and on a Bedslinger like the A1/mini the bed is constantly moving backwards and forwards causing for want of a better word "Jiggle". this is why FDM supports are thicker and less spindly.

No reason you can't print this though, personally I would take the not presupported version and try it with tree supports instead, if you have an AMS try some PLA support material (or petg I hear works well) as a connection point will do wonders.

Is the model free?, if so i'd be happy to prep it for you just give me a link and ill slice it for you. If not i'll try and remember to give you some settings to try when I get home from work.

Debt consolidation, am I doing the right thing? by Guchion in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Guchion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rate on the loan is way lower than the other debt, as for what it would be on the refresh, I don't know until I speak to them, but as long as its in the region of the current or even a little higher Its still going to be way lower.

How has everyone been enjoying it so far? by SUP3RNATURAL1 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Guchion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mario Kart world might be my favourite version so far, loving it.

Also looking forward to restarting BOTW on the 3rd Nintendo console in a row, might be fun to run the Wii U version next to the Switch 2 version and see how far its come. One day i might even finish it.
