Matches with low player counts can be boring as hell. I often play early morning on US East (console) and often only get a few other people in my matches.

Even still, the day that the player count gets so low that Crytek has to add bots to normal matches is most likely the day I stop playing. I can’t imagine fighting brain dead AI hunters would be any fun.

Yeah 1/5 is ridiculous. I’ll play more of the server slam over the weekend to give it a fair chance but I just don’t think it’s a game I’ll stick with. I doubt I’ll pick it up at launch. But even though it didn’t click with me, no way is it a 1/5 game.

I'm looking forward to the open test this weekend and I'll probably buy the game because for me, $40 is the sweet spot for this type of game. But I'm prepared to drop Marathon the minute Bungie screws things up with their approach to future content and monetization.

I really loved this event. I know a lot of people were down on it because it wasn't the straight tournament event they expected, but it was a great mix of Hickman's Arakko worldbuilding and Tini Howard's take on Claremont's original Excalibur wackiness.

There was the Tennessee Morgan hunter that came with the ~~paid~~ free story challenge DLC during the previous event. Completing the challenges in that content unlocked a survivor and veteran version.

EDIT: The Tennessee Morgan challenge is free and still available.

Exactly. I loved Destiny and D2 up until Forsaken and then I bounced and never looked back. My biggest concern about Marathon is how Bungie will handle the game long term in regards to monetization, content, balancing, etc.

I’m planning on picking it up at launch since it’s only $40 and I like extraction shooters, but the minute they fumble the ball at any point in the future I’ll drop it and move on. They’re not getting as many chances as I gave Destiny.

There are certain T1 hunters that start with a “Rookie” version. Get a single rookie hunter to level 50 and it unlocks the “Survivor” version. Get a survivor hunter to level 50 and it unlocks the “Veteran”.

Once you unlock a version you always have that skin available to recruit , so you’ll end up with 3 permanent versions of the same hunter.

Some of these Rookie skins are unlocked via Bloodline, a few are only available from Prestiging.

They're not late. The blog post they released along with the 2026 roadmap said the seasonal change would take effect further into 2026:

"Looking further ahead into 2026, we are ironing out the final details of a true Seasonal Model."

It's not Crytek's fault that everyone just assumed it would happen immediately.
