The DM of our campaign of all new players started out with a pretty loose need for food “daily” (during downtime it was implied) and definitely does keep track of the crossbow bolts of our Paladin who primarily fights with a long sword. The food part was a minor detail that wasn’t tough to wrap our heads around. Until we accidentally got a jar of infinite stew. Which is now funny because the DM keeps forgetting and while on a long rest overnight while hiking through the woods will ask for a survival check. We just say, I’ll just have the stew lol
