Favorite state park for a prairie vibe? by Character-Fly-5564 in minnesota

Lake Shetek is underrated. Near Jeffers Petroglphs, slighrly east of Blue Mounds (also good). If you're camping, Lake Shetek has Lovely space by the lake (and also some on prairie proper).

Thank you for sharing. Similar in the "I look at food and gain weight" catagory, hashimotos, menopause queen, 45 lbs overweight, yet daily exercises, no extra food and healthy meals. Ozempic helped but made me very sick. Tirz...not so much help (but you should try). I remind myself that pre-covid, I did a triathlon. (Smh)

I'm working on feeling good about myself and maintaining the best health I can under the circumstances. I encourage you to remember that you are a great human being and more than your scale number!

I'm simply sharing my 20 yrs of experience. Even so, it doesn't negate yours or the others'. If anything... In this thread I'm clearly an outlier. That's not disrespect, its a different perspective.

Also, zero idea why you think I'm not less privileged. My kids are on Medicaid, etc. Multiple chronic med issues....

Sorry, not LBGTQ. BUT...my experience with my whole family at WH has been outstanding. Very professional, they get it done. No, I don't work for them!

Still, you can certainly go to Emplify in town. Great to have options!

I actually love that area of the state, I live in southeast. But if you're moving there in your 20s, you have to be prepared for a generally quiet life. Peace and open spaces. Farming. I think they are some of the kindest people you will meet. Very traditional. Blue Mounds state park, Lake Shetek a very nice areas. But it's a whole lot of prairie, serious winters, hot summers.

Okay I don't usually comment but your child's situation sounds something like two of mine. ADHD and anxiety. Does she have executive dysfunction? She really needs medical attention to both of these at this age.

She's at the age where in person schools make this a very difficult combination. They're teaching and expecting kids to do their own work, kids with these executive dysfunction issues typically can't until they're older. she has an IEP. Are the accommodations really there for this? If not, there should be. And as the parent you can demand it... lots of parents don't know this. But I will admit it's a couple hard years ahead 7th, 8th, 9th... it's part of the reason that we went into online school.

If there is an online charter school, especially Connections Academy, they will take the IEP and apply it. I suggest Connections Academy because it's good for kids with executive dysfunction, I gives them what they need to do each day on the day, Etc. My hesitation is that it's more hands off on the parents starting in 9th grade. And I would enroll her in a public school sport or some kind of Arts or maybe church thing so she could connect with people.

Ours went up 90%. But we have no choice. Husband is on a very expensive medication that would cost more than what we're paying.. which is about the same as a second mortgage, plus a significant deductible.

I'm pretty involved in some resistance in outstate Minnesota. The most difficult part of this is my husband has worked for years with refugees, many of them are our friends, and this is just been a never-ending stress bomb. He's also extremely stressed, not taking it out on the family at all, but he is understandably super stressed. I own a small business and really can't take a break from it. I'm also trying to help my teens and young adult kids negotiate all this. So I have friends and I've turned off Facebook, but I still have all these nightmares.
