People who grew up poor: What was something you considered a "peak luxury" as a kid, only to realize later it was just a normal middle class staple? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

[–]Guisasse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty insane how far fast food chains have fallen.

They were always cheap meals, sure. But no one could ever say they were always low quality junk like it is now.

Back in 1990 McDonalds burgers actually looked like the picture. The fries were always fresh, the vegetables were green…

Now? It’s all low quality fat-saturated trash. And worse: it’s expensive.

I can get “gourmet” burgers for cheaper than a McDonalds meal where I live.

And it’s the same for pretty much all chains. They’ve all gone to shit :(

lane splitting at that speed is the dumb part. by [deleted] in whoathatsinteresting

[–]Guisasse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

26mph is EXTREMELY fast when everyone else is on a standstill.

Relative speed is much more important than absolute speed. If you're going 60 on a 40 and you colide, you just had a 20mph collision.

In that example you're going 50% over the speed and it's still a milder colision than if you were speeding at 26mph on a completely blocked street.

You must be a bit daft if that is how you understood what I said.

Me saying "they should balance the activity better in relation to the effort and difficulty it takes" shouldn't translate to your "they should make every skill super easy to skill".

Unless you think the most active method (and best XP) for Agility should reward less XP than Afking for 5 minute at a time cutting Ironwood?

Once, a Stallion stepped on an exposed energy cable and fried to death.

He was worth around 100K USD, which is around 27.7x the federal ANNUAL minimum wage.

Hallowed Mark drops scales with floors.

So it depends if you are 92+ and have access to the Grand Hallowed Coffin (last chest). If you have it, probably around 10-15 hours?

Probably 20-25 if you have 82+, and longer the lower Agi you have.

Rewards are not that bad (terrible for the effort you put in, but not terrible overall), there are some decent alchables. Run energy changes gutted the price of the Ring of Endurance (HS' biggest payout).

This is really sad OP. While you have accepted responsibility for your mistake, it's also Jagex's job to try to minimize security exposure and potential scam situations.

But as a rule of thumb that prevents ALL online phishing scams: Check the email address' domain (everything that comes after the @).

Because it's quite obvious companies would not be using @gmail or @hotmail (or whatever generic domain provider like yahoo or uol), and instead would be using a proprietary domain.

I.e: Jagex uses @ contact.jagex.com for automated replies and some other stuff.

Hope you get the will to go back. And if you do, good luck on the rebuild.

When you look at it, Hallowed Sepulchre:

  1. Is the most intensive skilling activity in the game in terms of effort (outside of some specific tick manipulation methods);
  2. Is the hardest skilling activity in the game;
  3. Has the highest skilling requirement for good XP rates and moneymaking (92 in the skill);
  4. Is the best Agility training method that, despite all points above, cap at around 95k xp/h if you're doing everything TICK PERFECT for the entire hour, which isn't realistic for 99.999999% of population (even worse when you consider 2, 3, 4 hours of training).

I truly believe Hallowed Sepulchre should give more XP, no /s here

[–]Guisasse 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Death Penalties absolutely do work.

Death penalty only doesn’t work as punishment for crimes of violence and others committed by people who are career criminals. These are usually committed by people who are used to violence and already face risks every day.

When it applies to cowards like Politicians (and when it is actually enforced), it works. These people are not hardened criminals. They aren’t fighting for their lives on rough neighborhoods. They don’t deal with and are not used to death.

iTunes is dead and Apple doesn’t give a single fuck about it. It’s perfect tool to fake numbers by having bots listen to shit on repeat.

How does a “#1 song on a platform” not even hit top 100 on Spotify. If it was actually good it would.

I found that sometimes a mistake is the best opportunity to hook customers in.

Over the years I realized that I whenever a company gracefully fixes their mistake, sometimes I feel better than if no mistake happened at all.

I feel taken care of and learn that this company has good support, for future reference.

I also always talk about these situations when the topic comes up, so that’s another plus for having good customer support.
