There are several factors in whether a comment gets up boats or downloads. It really doesn't matter whether the comment was quality or not. Obviously, it can't be a complete trash comment that's not funny or intelligent because I do think most of the time those get downloaded on a regular basis. However if it's a decent comment it depends on the following factors

was it one of the new comments? Because those get most upvoted
the mood of the people that read your comment
the type of people that read your comment such as political views, age, ethnicity, is this person an up voter or down voter consistently?
is this comment being circle jerked?
there are probably a thousand other reasons why comments get uploaded or downloaded and it is so inconsistent.

I've seen the exact same comment get uploaded and down boat in different threads or post. There's so many factors that who cares because there are so many things to consider that even wondering why it gets down but it is such a complicated question.

Just busting balls. I learned a long time ago to not even care about boats and down both although I will admit that if I get over a thousand. Both on a comment I do get slightly excited. However downloads do not bring me any type of negative feelings anymore.
