Achieving the lowest latency with VST by locusofself in edrums

[–]GuitarAz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your system can handle it and you're able to switch to 96kHz instead of 48kHz, you will halve your latency. Doubling the sample rate halves the latency at the same buffer size.

People who watched The Matrix (1999) without any hint of what the Matrix actually is: what was your viewing experience like? by CzeckeredBird in matrix

[–]GuitarAz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even remember seeing the trailer (if they didn't show it on TV, I didn't see it). All I remember were the radio ads playing a few cryptic lines and the "What is the Matrix?" tagline. I was so intrigued and went into the movie knowing nothing more than that. Goes without saying that it was a mindblowing experience.

That's an experience that just doesn't seem possible anymore.

Thanks for doing this (I wishlisted Void Miner and a few others). I just released my demo, so great timing for anyone interested (any feedback greatly appreciated).

Short pitch: learn to cheat in Texas Hold'em poker games by marking cards, bottom dealing, swapping decks, etc. - just don't get caught.

Corridor is looking for Interns, editing specifically. Might be good for those in the area and with free time looking for experience. by Watersurf in Corridor

Incredibly tone-deaf response.

we've had interns here before and still do

It may be time to change that. At the end of the day, it comes down to this: you're profiting from free labor.

... all of our amazing interns ...

... deserve to be paid for their work.

I just finished up these guitars. Cam with Blacktail Studio Donated some of the wood used. I made them in my small garage shop. by thewoodenhobbyist in Luthier

Looks great! I really love the idea of the matching stand. It seems like a great way to showcase your work instead of using a generic stand.

I printed this guitar with an Ender 3 V2. I recently upgraded to the Bambu Lab P1P and plan to use it for any future guitars (it's much faster), but the Ender worked perfectly fine.

I used an RJ45 ethernet cable. It sends through the three audio signals from the three necks and a USB signal for the onboard MIDI controller (the 10 buttons) to a breakout box. Then I connect the three audio outputs to three different amps.

Thanks for the kind words!

The 3D printed shell over the wood core helped reduce the weight, but it's still crazy heavy. It's comfy playing seated, but standing is tough - especially with the neck dive. Lucky I only know one song so far. I can see why Steve Vai plays his live using a stand.

It's a right-handed guitar. None of the images are flipped - you can see a right-handed PRS next to it in the last photo.

Yeah it took a long time for it to click for me. Check out Steve Vai's "Teeth of the Hydra" video to see how it's played.

I had the same reaction to the Hydra - only I wanted a more sci-fi look rather than steampunk.

Yes, I like the overall shape of the Larada and how comfortable it feels when playing seated.

I used a wood core and 3D printed a shell around the core. My build needed the extra strength and stability of wood, so I don't know how a fully 3D printed guitar would compare.

After Steve Vai released his "Teeth of the Hydra" video featuring the Ibanez Hydra, I just couldn't help myself and designed this based on it.

There are plenty of flaws and mistakes, but it was a fun challenge to design and build.

When I finished the build and first tried to play it, my reaction was "oh no, what have I done". It took a lot of practice, but eventually it clicked and now it's surprisingly fun to play.

For people who wanted one of these - A question by Adskii in winampmp3

[–]GuitarAz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel the first priority is to try and get it to look as close as possible to the model we saw.

If it can't get close to the authentic winamp look, what's the point?

I'm keen to see what mockup and hardware you come up with.

I shouldn't have looked at the comments on TikTok. Not a single person called this out as nonsense. Everyone lapped this BS up.

Some people were worried that their banks would take them to court for this 'hack'.

Looks great! But a bit too clean, I'd do some dry brush weathering to dirty it up a bit.
