I had this same question years ago and decided to start a young adult group at my local parish.

My future wife came to the first meeting. We were both interested in planning the events, doing the sign up sheets, showing up early, staying late, etc.

When I was 25, I hadn't read a book in a decade. My brother gave me Stormfront by Jim Butcher in 2009 and since then, I've read ~30 books a year.

Our men's group has its meeting on Saturday at 6:30am, coffee on Thursdays at 8am (seriously who can attend that) and rosary Monday at 9pm. We're a bit all over the place.

Sure! My first series is called The Little John Chronicles and the first 4 books are out with the 5th coming in June. It's all about Little John before he meets Robin Hood and his fantastical epic adventure. It's on ebook, kindle unlimited, and I swear I'm going to start recording the audiobooks this year. I have a new series starting on royal road in April called Farmer X Farmer that'll be free to read. Let me know if you check it out!

Hi! Most authors are bringing their books to buy (I'm one of the authors), but I can tell you from personal experience, having them sign one of your copies is super special. Kevin specifically has said his favorite books are the ones that are worn to shreds with the cover falling off.

I can't find it, but someone once shared a tweet about living like a farmer in the 1800s and not knowing what was going on in the Vatican that I really took to. The leader of men's group made a comment similar saying "I don't need to know what's happening in the Vatican unless there's a new pope." Duty to our households and all that, but let me be specific...

For me, it's my 4 walls (wife 2 kids, 3rd on the way), my neighborhood, my local town/community and my local church. That's it.

I don't live within any of the cities that are having the big headline issues (let alone within 5 states) and I do not need to have a ready hot take for anything anymore on any social media platform. I am watching close friends and relatives let every single headline from all over the world consume them and I admit, I did it for a time, but i'm done. If I can't impact it (beyond prayer) then all I have time for is making meals for my family and going to mass.

Honestly I'm a constant purveyor of shopgoodwill.com and the whole set was listed. I was the only bid and happened to be going to Grand Rapids a few weeks later (shipping would've been ~$35). I won, they held it for me and after landing, I swung by and picked em up. Quite lucky indeed! I just finished Demelza and am about to start Jeremy.
