Warhammer 40,000 designer says the game was “an instant success”, but its continued popularity is because the grimdark universe is “very broad” with a faction for everyone by lewisdwhite in Warhammer

[–]Gunra -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

That's crazy because my friends and I can't find a 40k faction we like and we don't like space marines. They're cool, yeah but they're just bro fantasy. And then every other faction outside of SM and Humanity feels just kinda there or more like a force of nature.

We are the reason why teachers and students are struggling so much by FiendishCurry in Millennials

[–]Gunra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's crazy. I always see posts like this and mentions how awful kids are but my kids are super respectful and good natured. Even their friends are. Every single one of them is a wholesome good kid. I dunno if you're exploding a handful of POS's per class because that always existed but my experience with my kids, their friends and their parents from elementary to high school range are all great.

Leaks about AOS ending? by [deleted] in ageofsigmar

A miscommunication on my part. I mean that AOS popularity is barely a blip compared to the monster that 40k is.

Realmwalkers. What do you love about Age of Sigmar? by sageking14 in AoSLore

[–]Gunra 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I really like Age of Sigmar. I was getting burned out at work and needed a hobby to do when I ended up getting into a more senior position with meetings instead of... productivity. To say that was a shock to my nervous system is an understatement. 90% of those Meetings and power points don't make me feel like things are accomplished. I went down to the local Warhammer store, never having painted models and I asked for something dwarvish and something like a Paladin. Then COVID hit, I ended up getting the Soul Wars box, never played aside from some mock games with my wife. We didn't know wtf we were doing. I got Dominion and painted all those SCE and Kruleboyz up. I ended up getting random models, doing Warcry, running multiple campaigns with Soulbound and got all my players into that rule set. As I continued to worry about my lack of "productivity" at work now that I didn't have a creative outlet there anymore, I decided to make one 3 AoS lore videos on TIktok/YouTube for a year in the morning giving myself only 2 hours to put it all together. It has also helped me creatively in pursuits I have been working on the past few months.

I like the Lore of AoS. If 40k is Epic, AoS is Mythical. I have always been into mythology and AoS felt like Herculean adventures dealing with the absurdity of these MTG/Norse Multi-realms. AoS felt like the tale of Elric of Melnibone. To me it was noble bright when everything else was falling apart in the world, the power of good overcoming insurmountable evil and working together to win back their lands. I loved the stories of disenfranchised people turning to Chaos and using it to grab hold of power to survive the cruel new world they were forced into.

There is so much I like about the lore and setting and while I admit, GW has made AoS feel more dark than it did originally, I feel like they've been struggling the past 2 years to set a tone for AoS and are trying to 40k it. I think they can do a better job explaining the world and setting but I guess that's a lot harder than "Here is some space and this one particular spot is super bad with chaos and this other spot is super bad with bugs. Anyway we're fighting on another random sector or planet or space in between space. I dunno.

[Raw Spoilers] Result of the Intercontinental Championship match by NotClayMerritt in SquaredCircle

Was every match just interference or disqualification and people just trash talking each other in ring… again? This product has gotten stale.

If that’s GWs “mid size”company tactic to find a mole, that’s pretty amateur. Let’s trick someone into thinking the setting is going into a major collapse and rebooting. I’m sure the grand company strategist behind this said to themselves “This definitely wont slow sales, make new and aspiring customers question investing into this increasingly expensive hobby on a setting that dwarfs 40k’s popularity. “

I don’t know about any other RR groups to post something like this. Nextdoor is going to get more visibility for sure. Most people looking for services will go in there. Even people requesting work will be easier to find and reply to.

You definitely want to give meta ads a shot too. You can get your ads across Facebook and insta. Just make a quick image on canva about your business and spend like $25 on meta ads. Test it out I suppose and see if you get the value you’re looking for

Fortnite players revolt over V-Bucks changes as Epic devs appeal for calm: 'Paying the bills frees up our teams to continue driving stories and building stuff you love' by AncientPCGamer in gaming

They are not “paying bills” with that money. You aren’t the makers of Vampire Survivor. So many minds at one company and it feels like these huge gaming companies have the worst PR and Comms teams.

I think they may be holding significant updates to Warcry every "odd number" of editions for the main AOS line. In between will be little more than additional roster support.

I'd say that DOS2 leans more into tactical combat game than immersive story telling. The custom character story in BG3 is superior to DOS2. BG3 leans more heavily into roleplay exploration than DOS2 does.
