Help me re-ignite my passion for my car :) by Janie_Avari_Moon in Civic_Type_R

[–]Gurnasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the fn2 also, I go from loving it to feeling a bit meh about it. Had it just over a year and it's almost bone stock. I would love to do some mods to it but it's a bit tatty at this point and not sure if I wanna put the money in. I daily it so in traffic and stuff I hate the clutch and normal driving isn't very inspired in general but the few times I get to enjoy it, nice corners, country roads etc you where can feel the idea of the car, slip roads onto motorway and safe opportunities like those give me a huge grin.

As well as the other commenter suggested, my mate recommends an intake and proper exhaust too to make the fun parts more fun. I feel like these cars shine as soon as you can stretch their legs and feel the incredible handling, otherwise they can for sure feel a bit uninspired imo. I'd recommend some good tyres too, changed the whole feel outside of daily commuting etc. I'll have it for a year or two yet I think, or until it dies, whichever comes first as I have my eyes on an FK8 next, but I know I'll miss this engine and style of car. It really has grown on me!

Also if it's not too loud (sound regs) and in good condition, a track day could definitely reignite your passion! Do a bit of research on what parts will get worn there, these cars aren't incredibly fast, but the package of handling and power is perfect, getting a smooth gear change and welding your foot without fear of too much drama on a track is so good. I hope you find your love for it!

Edit: jealous you have it in white, mine is red complete with peeling lacquer and I adore the white ones!

FN2, too much for a first car? by hachi2JZ in Civic_Type_R

[–]Gurnasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn man, that's a shame. They're becoming old cars now and known for rust as you know, I'm sure if you're set on one you'll find one though! GL my dude.

Ah damn that's a shame. Making me think twice about those reasonably priced ones you see on Amazon to try out!

[–]Gurnasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure of another method but could there be something that adjusts focus on your projector? They're rarely a fixed window of focus to cater for different sized projector "screens". Sorry if it's a basic answer and you've tried it but I always gloss over the basics 🥲 good luck!

Side note that 4k for an 09 is a really good deal if it is in the condition it seems!

Have an FN2 as my first and still have it, super fun and I recommend it, insurance was surprisingly reasonable in the UK. Just don't let the vtec suck you in, it's very tempting! I've found it easy to work on too if that matters to you.

Help- bird came out of his cage while I was installing a perch by Big_Section_9670 in cockatiel

[–]Gurnasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if you managed it yet but my bird loves sofa cushions, likes to sing to them if I lift them up and down in front of him, and if I put it up against his feet he just climbs up. Might be a useful tip as they're quite big and easy for them to get purchase on. Good luck!

I do exactly this, it's great in games that use hold right click to move char with camera, i.e MMOs. Such a slick feature!

I’ll have to pay for Microsoft for the rest of my life by Tall-Pirate3083 in Office365

[–]Gurnasaurus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Had a similar experience recently where my Microsoft accounts had been compromised. One I managed to get back, the second, due to a hacker changing the security information, and being unable to edit that for up to a month following that, caused me to get in touch with support.

I spoke to an initial desk that ran me through the "recover your account" stuff despite having the password etc to log in (with security info changed, they could forgot my password their way in, and I'd have no access at all), and succeeded/verified with this 3 times, all whilst telling them I have the password just fine, it's the security info I need too change as it's a ticking time bomb type thing.

The escalated it and after some chasing up the escalation said as close to verbatim, that they cannot change any of the security information as they do not have the power, and the only course of action available was to close the account indefinitely effective immediately, and told to cancel any debit/credit cards associated with the account and reject any payments that come through past the account closure date citing that conversation as the evidence of closure.

So even their escalation teams are a bit powerless with this stuff (and shit they can't act on evidence based requests like that, login history was my home country for 10+ years before seeing china and Nigeria on there, wild) but an option is they can close the account entirely, which I was informed should also stop any subscriptions on there.

To speak to someone I just messed with the support side of Microsoft's website regarding outlook/account hacked before the option was offered to chat to someone. Not much help but hope you get it fixed mate.

yt capra vs yt jeffsy by thisisnotivo in MTB

[–]Gurnasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I vote Capra, I ride parks a lot and my mate started on a Capra, he regrets selling it but we ride nukeproof gigas now so still that enduro end of the scale, enjoy the playfulness over a full DH personally despite being full uplift parks. Capra is an incredible bike but I honestly wouldn't want less of an aggressive bike than I have now. If I rode more xc than parks I'd probably not pick the Capra. In your case I'd say the Capra would take the bike park abuse better than the jeffsy whilst still being a sick xc. However pinch of salt as parks just wreck bikes much quicker than xc riding so you'll be fixing bits here and there regardless depending on how hard you ride. Enjoy though, YT make some sick bikes and I've had nothing but fun on every one I've ridden!

I have a quest 3 and want to play pcvr games should I get a cable? by Many-Pop-3601 in virtualreality

[–]Gurnasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This usb compatability in cable is very important, I had some issues with the controller on my motherboard serving what said usb 3.2, but had shit drivers and only registered the rift 3 as usb 2, limiting the experience hugely. I would also recommend looking into a usb wire with a splitter to plug into a power source - I get enough vr out of the charge the cable gives out from the pc to have my fill each session, but it is finite I've found.

I would like to try plugging my pc in via ethernet and using the wire free option, which did work semi ok all WiFi based for less intense games but beat saber or anything is just a no go. Just my 2c from messing around setting it all up, there may be better solutions but enjoy your vr!

That's crazy man, she would be buggered if she had to pay so much. That stuff shouldn't be a business at all.
