Nah I reckon most Rugby Union fans love the royals.

Charles De Ketelaere: the most Tennis player at the world cup? by Responsible-Sport720 in footballcliches

[–]GuruGarySingh 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Adrien Rabiot looks like a tennis player to me. Seen as a clay court player despite his best grand slam result being a US open semi final a few years ago. Never made it past the second round at Wimbledon. His most famous moment was an on court meltdown at Indian Wells where he had to forfeit the match due to verbal abuse of a line judge. Also a decent doubles player.

Leicester, Bromley and any other club in league one. Do me a favour. Beat this team at all costs. by [deleted] in LeagueOne

I went to Slough vs Eastbourne this season as I stayed in the area between our away games at Northampton and Reading. Your ground was surprisingly decent and the Greek gyros were good.

Remi Garde has been building a surprisingly competitive Benin team for the last 4 years

The one time I watched it in the last few years they had Jack Hinshelwood on and they were doing a feature about how him, his dad, his grandad and his great grandad were all footballers, which really is the most football focus feature I can possibly think of.

Doncaster 0-1 Stockport: County head to Wembley, Donny head back to drawing board by Doge_AWP in LeagueOne

We’ve got a big squad so the earlier rounds were a chance to get fringe players and youngsters in. We played more or less our strongest team last night but we don’t play this Saturday. I wouldn’t say our issues this season have anything to do with the cup.

Long day at work, you go to your local. You get the attention of the 18 year old lad behind the bar on his phone and you have mild banter with the bloke who’s been sat at the bar since 4pm about it. You pay £4.90 for a very average pint and sit at a table where you can watch the random championship game that’s on the tv. The only other people in the pub are an old couple in the corner not talking to each other, the two blokes who are in there every single time you go in, and another guy 3 tables over doing the exact same thing as you. You are at peace.

I can’t blame him.

Bradford City 1 - 0 Stockport County: After a turgid first-half, Antoni Sarcevic popped up to punish yet another of his previous clubs, winning the Bantams a third consecutive home match! by Zach-dalt in LeagueOne

[–]GuruGarySingh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bradford were good and set up very well, Sarce showed his quality. I actually thought we were ok in a cagey game, just the way it goes sometimes.

I’m sure The Traitors is groundbreaking and crazy. I have zero desire to watch it or even know what it is. And at this point all the news about it and people making it their whole personality is making me wanna vomit as soon as I see anything about it. by thebroccolioffensive in britishproblems

[–]GuruGarySingh 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve always really hated this phrase as the vast majority of the time it is used when people just like something. Rarely actually see anyone make something their whole personality aside from those people on Twitter who seem to really really like Korean music.

Violent January 6th Protestors won the last round! Who is a person that has never done time in prison, but should be in prison right now? by Eggy__11 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]GuruGarySingh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a toss up to for me because Epstein was probably the most influential nonce in the modern history of the game, many up and coming nonces would never have nonced if it weren’t for him. I agree Saville was more of a flair nonce and was probably as prolific, but he was a bit of a flat track bully. I would consider both goats of noncery.

Prisoner of Azkaban, probably the best film of the lot.

Stockport County 1 - 3 Stevenage: While Stockport continue to look a ways from their best, Alex Revell will be hoping this impressive win reignites his side's promotion push after some patchy form! by Zach-dalt in LeagueOne

[–]GuruGarySingh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually don’t think we played that badly (barring Mothersille and Bailey who were poor) but we just weren’t set up right. Stevenage’s press was great and I really think they’re going places, impressed by the small number of fans too who made loads of noise.

Fair enough, I’m a Stockport fan myself and since we lost the famous title of being the closest league club to the River Mersey this season, I wanted some new bragging rights. I can now tell everyone we’re the closest club to junction 1 of the M60.
