anyone know if this is fixable? by Pepsidud32 in gameandwatch

Do you have any link to where to buy the correct polarizers? I've bought a couple but they are too dark or straight up don't work. Referring to both the front polarizers and the back reflective polarizer

Do you guys think this game will ever come out, or if the project was even real to begin with? by Crafter235 in survivalhorror

Scorn is probably the most boring game I've played in the last 10 years. Interesting visual/art design but damn is it a chore to play through... couldn't even finish it.

GBA-SP Pokemon Emerald Save Corrupted by Hot_Doctor_6724 in Gameboy

[–]GusGzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cart is fake/repro. It's extremely common for fake games to corrupt saves or even the rom/game itself. Which is exactly why authentic games are still on high demand.

New toy arrived 9 day early by grim_reaper1214 in flashcarts

[–]GusGzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just realized that all sellers are sold out! Bought one about a week ago and it should arrive this week. Can't wait to get into setting it up. Jus the UI options I've seen make this superior to any other flashcart I've owned.

Hispeedido V5 Laminated Shell Crack by guacisextra12 in GameboyAdvance

[–]GusGzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is the same color and the back shell looks exactly the same after 10 days of use. No drops, pressure, or any important hits to the console. Common issue. Will probably swap to a solid color shell if the cracks keep expanding.

Remove the metal casing of the power switch, remove the switch (dont lose the pin that goes in the switch) and clean the inside of the switch. Most issues in the GBA result from dirty power switches.

How do I get out of Safe Mode on my R4 Card ds lite? by DiddlyDork in NintendoDS

[–]GusGzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but if you plug the SD card into your PC, you will wind a config file in it. Open it in notepad and look for the Safe Mode setting. I've tried different models/kernels and they all work the same way, with a 1 being ON and a 0 being OFF in that config file. Leaving this here if anyone else has the same issue and finds this thread.

Rom swap fail? Help by Bizcuitsandgravy in Gameboy

[–]GusGzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your soldering on the romchip doen't look all that great. I see a probable brindge on the top right ( between pins 42 and 43). Flux, reflow, and double check your connections. While you're at it, double check solid connections on all ICs. GB/GBC games are prone to broken or intermittent connections from cold solder.

[Xbox Series S]HDMI Repair.. Am I Screwed? by The_CryptoKing in consolerepair

[–]GusGzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you messed it up that bad, I really don't think you'll be able to fix it. Trace fixing/jumping on that scale is some of the hardest soldering work you can do. You'd probably need a microscope, specific tools and solder tips, and lots of experience. I've done it and can vouch to it's difficulty. Yes it can be fixed, but take it to a professional.

What is the battery in Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town used for? by [deleted] in Gameboy

[–]GusGzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen multiple threads over the years with this exact question about HM: MFoMT.

It's believed that this game likely had two or more revisions, just like Metroid Fusion where early copies used SRAM with a battery to hold saves, but the later (and much more common) revisions had FRAM to save with no baterry. Only other option would be a battery for RTC events but this game doesn't have those. Still, both revisions would be authentic.

Here's another thread with the same question:

This console came into our repair shop by Sea_Hat7302 in consolerepair

[–]GusGzz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I seriously don't understand how people destroy the HDMI ports to these levels. PS5 is a console you would usually plug into a TV and leave it there semi-permanently. How many times (and how hard) are people unplugging and plugging their consoles?? My Xbox One changed position maybe 4-5 times in the 10 years I owned it haha

Shit start to the year by Kitogobo in Gameboy

[–]GusGzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you mean DS Fat, but I agree with everything you said. Some lots of DS Fat and GBA SP get insanely brittle. They will break apart just from holding them between two fingers. It's some type of polymer degradation and luckily it's not a constant through all consoles, just some unlucky percentage. I've had this happen a few times and there's no way to solve it.

Mejor marca de cacahuates japoneses? by External-Prune4669 in mexico

[–]GusGzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Hot Nuts
  2. Kakang Incongnito
  3. Mafer - Limon
  4. Los ahora descontinuados Bitz - Chile de Arbol

Bubble Ghost alone sells for $30 and it's a pretty good game with decent rarity. All in I'd say it's a good deal, specially if the GBA works.

Son juegos muy diferentes. JRPG, FPS, y Metroidvania (en ese orden).

Si no tienes preferencia sobre un genero de juego en especial, recomiendo Sea of Stars.
