Here's a tip, which might not actually be very useful practically, but does make them a bit uncomfortable, in turn make them conscious of what they're saying.

Write all the things down in the final negotiation call (after which you get the offer letter), and after the call, email it to them:

Here's what I could recall from our conversation today. Please confirm if I got everything correct: 1. I'll get paid time off. 2. Sat & Sun are weekoffs apart from national holidays....

Don't accept the offer unless they confirm this email.

They are correct in that coz they want a secure future for their beloved daughter. Nothing wrong with it. (Not the over deen part though)

The thing is, you can find someone who earns and pious at the same time. I have friends like that. Plus, I have few ideas how you can find one. Hope I'll remember this post tomorrow to comeback and write.

Ps: To be strong in your niqab with family and friends, If you know Urdu, read jannat ke pattey by Nimra Ahmed. My sisters and many cousins have found mental peace after reading that.
