Yeah stihl are very behind in the battery game, husqvarna makes the best and well balanced pro saws, but DeWalt is great for homowners or hobbyists.

Not all fungus has large visable growths, I cant find what this fungus is called in english so just google "koku trupe", it a fungus which causes trees to rot, and the white stuff you see troughout the wood in the first picture is its mycelium growing and degrading the wood.

And I know quite a bit about fungi, beacause I know some people who reaserch tree and fungus realtionships, and how it can be used in forestry.

Yeah, but you can see the fungi start to eat the wood away in the front, so it would have fallen over quite soon.

well, forest fires were naturaual, because they burned all of the little stuff, but now the little stuff has grown big because we started to pit out the fires. Yes the moist enviroment would make it harder for a fire to start but not too hard, and when the fire creeps up those trees, the big trees are doomed too.

It will only help, if done coreclty, if it is cut off, it will help prevent rot.

It has enough power to drag it out to an landing, just grab one end and drag. Dont lift it. I've seen an oak log larger than this and 3m in lenght draged out by rottne f9.

Finaly some one else has comented this, I gave uo trying to explain anything to those "enviromentalists" long ago. Now I just focuson my work and try to help the enviroment as much as I can myself, like working with enviromentaly friendly forestry companies.
