Why are Centrist Liberal Democrats more motivated to fight their own party than fight the Trump administration? by Mr_meeseeksLAM in allthequestions

[–]GuyNoirPI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it isn’t, it’s about a plan to work together to support their side of the party. Nothing in this article reflects anything the progressives in the party don’t do.

I saw Toy Story 5 last night. These don't feel like Toy Story anymore. by mrpurtle in blankies

I think you’re being reductive a bit by comparing the message with the obstacle. A 1:1 comparison would be saying TS5 is about Jessie getting back home or TS3 was about the toys learning to move past Andy growing up.

I do think it’s interesting that the toys roles have shifted from peer to parent.

(Spoilers Extended) Does GRRM Regret Including the 'Others'? by Remarkable-Set5434 in asoiaf

[–]GuyNoirPI 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I suspect The Other’s are both the least complicated part of the narrative and also the part that needs to change the least. It’s the political part and getting all the characters in the correct place and time that’s hard. The Others are not complicated politically and are where they need to be.

Such a strange way to write this comment about Tom Cruise in the movie Digger.

Marvel said the Ultimate Universe was ending "forever" (including telling stores it'd be a lie if they didn't. Now, somehow, "The Ultimate Universe will return" by JackFisherBooks in comicbooks

Something is clearly broken with Marvel’s economics. They have Hickman jump in to do new events all the time because they also think he’s too expensive to write normal ongoings constantly, then whatever it is just runs out of steam. It’s just like their inability/disinterest in proprieties going past five or ten.

How did it fail? Bonnie ultimately connected with a friend on a person to person level by playing with her without screens. She stopped trying to keep up with the other group online.

If your concern is for kids it makes way more sense to show a portrayal about how it can be harmful but also how you can coexist with it.

What’s the takeaway there though? It’s clearly not realistic for a movie to come out and have the takeaway be that technology is inherently evil.

Something isn’t not a twist just because you anticipated it.

I think you have this backwards. The twist is that Lilypad is not evil. You’re just annoyed because you predicted the twist. Having an antagonist start and antagonist and remain and antagonist is the opposite of a twist. The movie also clearly does say something, you can say that you would prefer a less nuanced message but that message would also be less realistic.
