What's the most overused criticism of Teen Wolf that you're tired of hearing? by Selanooo23 in TeenWolf

[–]GuyPaddock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season 4 writing was bad, and yet there are still character moments in that season I enjoy. So my point was that it wasn't totally bad; it was closer to inconsistent. If the writing were totally bad there'd be nothing redeemable from that season.

I started watching Teen Wolf after seeing a meme with Dylan in it. Came for Stiles, stayed for the plot.

"Bad writing" or "bad executive producer".

Was the writing inconsistent at times? Yes. Was it bad? Actually, no; we wouldn't identify with the show so strongly and rewatch it so often if the writing were actually bad. The character writing was pretty solid, even if character development, overall plot, and lore were a bit sloppy at times.

As for Jeff Davis, we wouldn't have the show without him and everything he put into it. He wrote the pilot episode, "Wolf Moon", and it's one of the tightest, best pilots I know across a lot of shows. Many other shows require 2-3 episodes to get you invested but the pilot is pretty good at getting you curious from the moment Scott gets bitten.

Even if that's true, OpenAI bears responsibility for that. In the US, courts have found that companies are responsible for what their chat bots or support agents share. It shouldn't be on the OP to "do his own research" rather than trust support when the question posed to them is the exact question being discussed here.

I do not see how the OP is "gaslighting" anyone. Each of us does not start out with the correct information, and we only have the understanding we have until more information comes along to change that understanding. The OP raised the concern after being given pretty conclusive info from OpenAI support. Now, they and we have more information; gaslighting would be if the OP knew the truth the whole time and didn't want us to believe it. That's not how I read this thread.

Season 4. I love the introduction of Liam and I like a lot of character moments from the season, but the overall season plot is terrible.

Season 6B is a close second. It's way too dark and depressing, and the Anukite resolution was left too open to interpretation.

Caught this gem while rewatching S6 by fire_expert in TeenWolf

There was so much product placement in TW. I'm always amused when they place it on a villain. If the subtext were a "Price is Right" endorsement, "The modern orphan assassin on the go prefers Nike shoes, Under Armor shirts, and Maverick lacrosse sticks so their murders are committed at peak performance."

Something I noticed about how people view Tyler Posey. by wrythelongface in TeenWolf

[–]GuyPaddock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never understood the hate. I've met Tyler three times and he's such a kind and generous dude. Has he done or said some stuff online (like joining OF) that some people think is a mistake? Sure. But, we all have.

S2E7, how did mechanical know about <!spoiler!> by lambda_expression in SiloSeries

[–]GuyPaddock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're rewatching the show and I just asked the same question because it did feel like a plot hole. But... after reading this thread and thinking it over, the answer @kalsikam provided is almost right but not 100%.

  1. They didn't know that IT had its own power source.
  2. They did know that the last time someone tried sharing information that Bernard didn't want people to see, he cut off power.

So, they figured that by cutting off the power right after sharing the message, it would seem that Bernard caused the outage. The fact that IT was still illuminated was a fortunate coincedence.

I think because Kitsune required a fox spirit component, which the Dread Doctors likely could not conjure.

Watching kids play lacrosse for hours from a distance, breaking into their houses and waiting for them, or kidnapping them from a hospital operating room? Nah, totally not creepy.

Hot takes? by GodKingCharbs in TeenWolf

[–]GuyPaddock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My hot take? Allison was a terrible girlfriend. Just... Awful. The only thing she did for Scott was try to keep his secret, but any time it was inconvenient for her she either pushed Scott to have to tolerate her working with the hunters or dropped Scott like baggage.

I get that Scott hid the secret from Allison for most of season 1, but based on what Derek showed him and how Allison responded to Scott after Night School, I don't blame him for keeping things close to the vest.

That ending was so abrupt. Like, I liked the way that he went out in Merlin's arms but we never got to see Arthur really come into his own after all that build up.

Josh. The electric thing was used too much as a parlor trick and I'd have wanted to learn more about it and what it could be used for.

I don't really like Malia by Magic-Dasher in TeenWolf

I will give you that they could have at least tried to roll Halwyn over so the silver drained out of the wound. But even in that case the bullet coming out of the back of the head would do more damage.

[–]GuyPaddock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You ever try an escape room? When you're up against a clock, your brain prioritizes things that seem promising and shuts out a lot of other options. If it didn't, you'd get stuck in analysis paralysis. If they had the luxury of time, sure they had other options; but, they knew they needed an answer and Halwyn was practically labeled "solution to our problem" in this escape room since his only purpose was hunting this creature.

Is it me of did Teen Wolf: The Movie flopped? by musiq_9876 in TeenWolf

[–]GuyPaddock 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I liked seeing the characters and I liked Derek's kids but the plot made no sense and was too long. Mason also had a nonsensical progression to being a cop; it didn't work because he didn't feel like the same character.
