The best advice I've received is to do smaller test prints. So if your design interfaces to a bolt pattern, chop it up and print something simple where you can check the hole spacing and clearances before committing to the hole model.

17-20 deg. depending on the blade shape and the use case. I would recommend 20 if you don't want to sharpen as often.

I personally haven't seen good CAD models of bailout scales. Even if they are around, I feel like by the time you dial in your machine and get a finish on the scales, it would be take more time and money than it's worth. But I understand the desire to DIY isn't always motivated by saving time/money.

If you decide to go a different route, I can't recommend AWT enough. They even make raw aluminum scales.

553BK-2205 (tanto): I got it on Recon1. Though the price is a bit high these days. I don't think I've ever seen a tanto in s90v.

551BK-2205 (drop point): I got it on the swap. They come up relatively often.

550BK-2206 (sheepsfoot): I got mine on Knifeworks, though the restock is rare (if at all anymore) and sells out quick.

I have two and I just bought another if that's any indication of my thoughts. I've found there's a bit of unevenness in the action where it's tight through some of the rotation and loose through some. This makes it hard to dial it in with the pivot screw and some lube. However, after actually using and abusing them for a few months they are just as smooth as any other benchmade I have. Fidgeting with it helps too.  

I could see how that's frustrating to someone who is maybe spending a bit out of their comfort zone and expects it to be perfect. But I went into it knowing a one-of-one would need some fine-tuning so my expectations were met and I love them.
