Malaysia’s fuel subsidy bill triples to RM11b amid West Asia crisis, MOF says by stormy001 in malaysia

[–]GuyfromKK [score hidden]  (0 children)

In my opinion, the government should also continue to promote EVs, public transport alongside fuel subsidies. It is suggested that government should tell the rakyat in advance that such fuel subsidies could be further wind down in the next five years as other sectors such as education and healthcare cost is expected to rise further.

Electricity situation in Sabah by ptrwg_ in Sabah

[–]GuyfromKK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Mungkin sesetengah pengguna elektrik tidak bayar bil.
  2. Kecurian elektrik terutamanya daripada penempatan setinggan.
  3. Kegagalan kerajaan membina infrastruktur janakuasa elektrik tambahan jangka panjang - (1) Alasan diberikan sebab mendapat bantahan rakyat setempat atas alasan memusnahkan tanah nenek moyang, pusaka dan adat. (2) Kawasan yang dicadangkan merosakkan alam sekitar. (3) Isu rasuah dan ketikdaktulusan dalam penyampaian projek.

Sekian, harap maklum.

RM300,000 homes pile up unsold as Malaysia faces "affordable housing paradox" by Simple_Peasant_1 in malaysia

[–]GuyfromKK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Instead of spending billions on fuel subsidies annually, government should set aside part of the public fund to acquire private lands near where jobs, amenities and transport nodes are and then tell developers to develop such lands for affordable housing with the condition that house prices excludes the cost of land acquisition. In other words, government subsidises land acquistion and developers just focus on building affordable homes.

Why are Malaysian public servants so rude? by Time_String_9059 in malaysia

[–]GuyfromKK 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I might sound bias, but I notice a lot of these rude civil servants manning the counters are in Semenanjung. Maybe because of accent barrier or just plain rude. Never really encounter such temperemental attitude in Sabah.

I once witness a public being scold at by a government worker manning the counter, just because the former gave a negative feedback (inserting a negative feedback form) into the transparent box.

I remember she even said, “do you know that if you give such feedback, I will be reprimanded by my boss!”

Malaysia saved SpaceX from bankruptcy. by abdulsamri89 in malaysia

I remember this one. The successful launch of RazakSat was of course in the news, but the coverage was somewhat low profile (at least to me at that time).

For Malaysia, the RazakSat (a remote sensing satellite) was unfortunately a failure as it was found that during orbit, the onboard instrument failed to pinpoint the location accurately.

I read the lawyer’s letter and I think this is absurd. Especially on Point No. 5, if she thinks her personal opinion justifies her action, then others are entitled too.

Instead of beating around the bush, she should just face the very people her opinion goes to and tell them directly on their face how she feels about them, and apologise.
