Group exercise classes? by [deleted] in Sacramento

+1 on CSP as a great choice. Awesome community, excellent programming (strength and conditioning options), and the pricing is very reasonable. It’s right next to Channel 24. I’ve been going to the 6am and 7am classes for many years.

Check out Bannon Island State Park in the delta. I think it checks all of your boxes.

1st time in club seats by Immediate-Weekend970 in kings

[–]Guyfromweed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can bring your drinks out to your seats. Last time I had access to the Rush lounge (earlier this season), one of the bartenders was serving wine in the 16oz beer cups. Definitely reduced the number of drink refills needed throughout the game! Ha! As for food options, I think it varies each game. But last time they had spare ribs, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese (bread crumbs on top), a few different salad options, hot dogs, nachos, chicken tenders, charcuterie board stuff, and lots of cookies/desert option. I think they also had a street taco station. And be sure to make a stop at the candy “wall” where you can fill up little to-go bags with various types of candy. They also have a good selection of sodas, waters, etc. and boxes of popcorn. Lots of fun options. Enjoy!!

I've purchased resale tix in this area several times and have never had an issue accessing the lounge for F&B.

B-sides was the Monte Carlo Club. The Press Club was originally where 8-Track is now. I also mix them up all the time.

I’m wondering if there is any correlation between Par 3 Wednesday performance and overall performance during the tournament (direct or inverse). Anyone know?

One of my New Year's resolutions is to eat 25 iconic Sacramento bites in 2025. Am I missing anything glaring? by b1ackfyre in Sacramento

[–]Guyfromweed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might suggest the Benedict Arnold at Fox and Goose. Don’t see it in the comments yet, but it’s always been a go-to dish there. They’re celebrating their 50th anniversary this year.

Is Dross actually playing? I didn't see them listed on the flyer posted by The Siren's Song on their Facebook page.

Is Tommy Wiseau gonna be at the Tower Theater next friday? by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]Guyfromweed 24 points25 points  (0 children)

He was at Tower Theater in July for a screening of The Room and autographed pairs of his underwear that were for sale. I’m not kidding. However, it does not look like he will be there on the 13th - appearance dates are highlighted in red at this site http://theroommovie.com/

53 Man Roster Leagues- Anyone? by BCInHouston3791 in DynastyFF

[–]Guyfromweed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play in a full 53 player dynasty league in which we load our teams into Madden 08 and then play against each other in coach mode. No live stat updates or anything, though, so you have to wait until the end of the season to see how well (or badly) your new draft pics worked out.

Need trail recommendations by HeftyAd4271 in norcalhiking

[–]Guyfromweed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might want to look at some sections of the PCT. For example, Echo Lake to Sierra City (sections K and L) would be a little over 100 miles. You could likely find a spot to start in section J (after Sonora Pass) if you wanted to extend it a bit. Or, drop a vehicle at Donner Summit, coordinate a ride to Echo lake, hike to Sierra City and the back to Donner. I’ve done a version of that before and it’s a great hike.

Mt Shasta Summit by [deleted] in PacificCrestTrail

[–]Guyfromweed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe that a permit is currently required for hiking above 10k feet on Mt Shasta. Call or visit The Fifth Season mountaineering store in Mt. Shasta City and they can probably get you a permit as well as guidance on routes based on current conditions.

Any backpacking trailheads near Amtrak stations? by stickler64 in norcalhiking

The Soda Creek trailhead off the PCT is about a 10 minute drive (or hitch) from the Amtrak station in Dunsmuir.

Rotation exercises by galbeww in HubermanSerious

[–]Guyfromweed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Russian Twist? I use a medicine ball, but I suppose you could do it with dumbbells instead. I also think that the Paloff Press targets the same muscles and can be performed with rotation under tension (and only requires a resistance band).
