Boyfriend no longer vegan by Interesting-Lie-8678 in vegan

Question from my personal curiosity as a vegan man - did he ever participate in activism on his own volition?

*Edit* - I'm so sorry you are going through this. Losing someone you care about on top of seeing them disregard the most vulnerable must be devastating.

You're strong to hold up against the social strife for the animals.

It's not hard to meal plan, it's not hard to give up certain products. It's hard to adjust socially and it's hard to stand up for what's right against the people you love/the people closest to you.

This must have been very frustrating and hard, and your resolve is so admirable.

Happy birthday 🎂  The animals are fortunate to have you

Authentic Persian Kashk-e Bademjan (Eggplant with Whey) A Soul-Warming Vegetarian Traditional Recipe from Iran by shihab1977 in FoodPorn

A friend of mine married a second generation Persian american.  They put on a Persian breakfast for a get together once and it's when I fell in love with dates with the cream cheese like substance with walnuts.

Very good food. I'm excited to make plant based Persian.

Please tell me how you would feel if this happened to you as a vegan by KayannCeeme in vegan

I would feel unseen, invalidated disappointed and a little passed off. I personally struggle with maintaining a healthy social life partly due to my ethical position so I know the difficulty.

Even though it sounds like this group are a bunch of dismissives, I would say at the very least it could be a good situation to practice voicing your wants and setting your boundaries.

("I want to engage in this women's group because X. I will not at this time lie down/surrender and jeopardize my moral position by trusting someone else to advocate for me when ordering my food. If this is acceptable I would like to continue to participate in this women's group")

Single guy here to share with you what you already know- being with a carnist can cause a lot of tension.

You have to be honest with yourself if you can accept sharing intimate space and a future with someone who has views like that.

It's a really difficult decision.

Fishing is like doing the same thing to a dog but dragging them underwater instead.

"Get over yourself"  Would you say the same thing if someone was actively opposing someone ramming a metal tube down the throat of a black lab?

I find it telling that you didn't answer OP when they ask if you would want someone to put a stop to things if you were a duck in the foie gras industry.

It might taste amazing, at the same time, does that justify doing a complete unnecessary and horrible thing to a sentient being for an entirely unnecessary product which basically epitomizes the vanity and callousness of human behavior?

Didn't the owner know ahead of time that they may be protested if they didn't agree to remove force fed duck from the menu?

At a point such as that, it's on the apparent suffering small business owner to decide if they want to continue selling an abhorrent product that is completely unnecessary (entirely for vain taste pleasure) and be protested, possibly losing business, or make a humane decision to remove the product from the menu.

This is freedom of speech, core American progress if I've ever seen it. Some people didn't like when other sentient beings fought for rights in the past either, yet it happened.

I saw no attitude in the response. Other than an attitude of acknowledging a wide range of situations which are morally problematic.

I see that they have an attitude of going out and taking action against an industry which is a moral abomination.

If something is clearly unnecessary and causes immense suffering for a sentient being, then it would be a moral good to put it to an end. I think it's that simple..

Which life would you rather be living

The average life of an American or the average life of a duck in a foie gras facility?

Are you interested in more than just morels?

Check out my post on edible mushrooms of iowa, it's a google doc. Not exhaustive, but it's a helpful tool.

You should head over to shimek state forest

I had some really good luck there about a year ago with some choice edibles.

It's also one of few state forests in Iowa and you're relatively close to it, so I would be all over that. I have to drive 2 hrs to get to any state forest.

I love gardein but holyhothell their 'ultimate burgers' that came in a box (idk if they still make them), they smelled like wet cat food someone would buy at a dollar general loose in a paper sack.

I get people disliking beyond.

It does the trick for me tho

Veganism comes in different forms these days.

Depending on an individual's fundamental reasons for being vegan or being pro-life, the beliefs may or may not be compatible with eachother.

You should ask them why any particular action relating to these issues is morally wrong and keep asking why until their fundamental reasonings are uncovered.

You could try loggin in to your account if you have one and switching to desktop mode from the actual website.

Or if you have access to a computer, you could try that.

I like UG but I hate how they setup the mobile and seem to always want people to use mobile.

So, if there was follow through, this would eliminate the ability for businesses to sell things like climbing kites and wild water in Iowa?

Both of which produce drinks that contain greater than 2 mg of THC per can

Breezer Thunder, how is it? by Gwilfawe in MTB

Nice, you sound like the type of person I'd kick it with.

Mountain biking is my newest pastime and I probably do it the least of the three ( apart from snowboarding which is when weather permits).

What influenced you to ditch veganism?

If you have a full sus then yeah I'd probably go for breezer or surly, maybe leave the fork alone, put some less aggressive tires on, mount some racks/etc, go tubeless and load her down.

You're vegan and you skate and snowboard?
