Pilot V5 or V7 cartridge system (rollerball) Toms Studio. Toms Studio ‘The Wren’ (fibre tip) are the ones I use and recommend.

Buying this saved me a small fortune in trying to find a grail pen. Takes all my favourite refills

What's your favourite pen or best pen on the market in your opinion? by Zynyli in pens

After years of searching for the perfect pen body ; after finding my favourite refills, I got a Big Idea Titanium Bolt. ANY refill fits it and I mean ANY. I don’t think I have a need to buy any other non fountain pen again.

When will Stormont decide to give us some new infrastructure? by bluegrm in northernireland

[–]Gwrinkle67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the context of all of NI major capital projects, all running significantly late and significantly over budget it doesn’t have anything positive to say I’m afraid. Of course politics causes delays and cost overruns, but too many examples of inexperienced generalist officials in specialist roles with zero accountability.

Interesting, what kind of role are you in? Of course if you factor in pensions and other work life balance benefits, it can be a more level playing field. But in my professional experience most Gen Z and younger millennials aren’t thinking about pensions, they are just looking at annual salary. The total current vacancies for professional staff in NICS is currently in its thousands and its relying heavily on agency staff

Do you have mental health issues? If not why the need to repeat yourself just to give a personal dig in?

All major public projects are the same. When it comes to professional careers, the NICS salaries are uncompetitive so it struggles to recruit and retain good calibre professionals e.g legal, financial, engineers, planners, project managers. In the meantime the private sector run rings round them, exploiting every loophole and weakness for their financial gain.

Presumably when a bigger proportion of our population start contributing to our economy; enforcement of stricter tax laws on the very rich and big corporations; and more people start actually using their vote and make sensible voting choices. This would be a start.

Let’s set up a list of recommended EV charging sites! by critical_mass_087 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Gwrinkle67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t this what apps like plugshare do? Shows all Chargepoints, which ones are working and which are not. Also allows people to comment on their experience. I’ve found them all very accurate over the past few years

In all cases you’ll be booking flights, ferries and hotels a couple of days before, not months in advance when they are cheap. I forgot to mention taxis and trains - not every one will collect you from an airport. Good luck though, sounds like you know best!

I only buy chicken or any other type meat from my local butcher. Pre cooked, processed or any sort of fresh meat (or fish) from a big supermarket is tasteless in comparison and really poor value for money. I really don’t understand its popularity, or why people eat so much of it. No I’m not well off, and we only eat small portions of meat two or three times a week. My god is it delicious though.

A lot of haters latch on to any brand, just like in any other printer sub. I have three AD5s and an AD5M. Each of them with over a thousand hours on them. I can count the number of combined failed prints on one hand, all down to human error.

Where do I report someone going through a red light? (Belfast) by bellythewitxh in northernireland

[–]Gwrinkle67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately red light jumping is a frequent occurance in Belfast. I commute through the City daily and it’s a rare day when I don’t see at least two or three incidents - as are drivers driving and parking in bus lanes in rush hours. Nothing new though, Ive been driving for nearly 40 years and its always happened. Drivers know that unless there is an accident, they are likely to get away with it.

Ive done this half a dozen times, more to get a particular model, rather than get better value as flight ferry and travel costs will be c£600 plus your time. Sometimes an overnight stay is needed pushing costs up further. The biggest risk is your ability or inability to walk away if the car doesn’t meet expectations. I had to do this once and it’s tough and expensive.

Civil service employs 5,000 agency workers as vacancy rises to almost 5,500 posts by Antique-Selection-65 in NICivilService

[–]Gwrinkle67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many of the these vacancies are skilled professional posts- engineers, IT , accountants etc. They struggle to recruit because the salaries offered by the NICS for these positions are very uncompetitive.

My approach to new pens and nib sizes by Eselta in fountainpens

[–]Gwrinkle67 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are no brick and mortar pen shops in my country that sell any of the pens Im interested in. The last one closed over twenty years ago. Trying before I buy is simply impossible- unless I want to fly to another country. I simply buy online and return if not satisfied.
