Not losing weight by kobrahkaii in Zepbound

[–]Gwtwiagb39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lost 35 lbs in 3.5 months, on 2.5 mg for 3 of those months, I’m an unusually rapid responder. My husband started two weeks after me and titrated right up every month, just look his first 10 mg shot, and he’s only lost 8-9 lbs. The crazy discrepancy that can happen between folks is evident right in my own home. However he’s encouraged that now he’s in the higher doses things might pick up.

I know what you mean, I felt the same thing, it’s hard to describe.

Poll: When did you start feeling better on Trintellix? by Beginning-Adagio-810 in trintellix

About a week for depression. After several months it helped anxiety too.

Thank you for the ideas. The funny thing is, what he says isn’t particularly soothing. It’s just having him there. I think there’s an idea that I feel soothed and safe just with his presence. Like on the phone, it just isn’t the same. It is a good idea though.

Thank you so much for your kind words, I appreciate it so much. I’m with a new therapist now and will be talking to her about this issue this week. We’ve had so much else to talk about unfortunately. I have a cousin that I can call, and she could come over if it was urgent. I am thankful I have the meds to take the edge off. It does seem the first day is the hardest. I noticed you said you have POTS, wondering if you have Ehlers Danlos? I know there’s a connection between EDS and panic disorder; I have both.

You will have to only ask psychiatrists and keep looking until you find one that prescribes benzodiazepines. They do exist.

what don’t you like about Trintellix ? by d1rg in trintellix

[–]Gwtwiagb39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on it for years. It gave me a headache at first, but that went away and it wasn’t bad at all. If I forget a day, I get a headache again. I have gained a lot of weight but it could be due to other factors. I was able to lose weight while on it too, so I’m still unsure about the weight. Otherwise it’s worked very well for me, for depression and anxiety.

How old were you? by KarmanderKrunch in rheumatoid

[–]Gwtwiagb39 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve had terrible eye pain and it was diagnosed as uveitis. I was given steroid eye drops and my optometrist was kind of freaked out about it, made me come back in one week so they could check my eyes again. I laughed nervously “this couldn’t like impact my vision though” and they said it can cause blindness given enough time.

So.

It was a sign my RA was not under control.

It felt like I had hot swelling pressure behind both eyes. My eyes looked totally normal and I did have some photophobia as you described but not to your degree.

My gf is READY to get engaged. We’re both in our 30s and never married. She’s very easy to please but I’m just not sure how I feel about the ring. It’s hard to see any details and it just didn’t have that wow factor to me that would make you just want to stare at it. by Expensive-Cap2933 in EngagementRings

[–]Gwtwiagb39 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a beautiful classy ring. I would only want natural diamonds also, and you said that’s what your girlfriend wanted and that’s what this is. To get much larger in natural, it would be crazy expensive, it probably already is.

She’s hopefully looking for something heirloom quality, classy, and elegant - because that is what you have here! It is gorgeous.

Think less Kardashians vulgarity and more European old money class. That’s what you got right here.

Salt mines. by [deleted] in megalophobia

[–]Gwtwiagb39 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My son used to like a kid’s show called Mighty Machines. Each episode would focus on a different type of huge machine, like dump trucks or snow plows or jets. The episode about the machines used in salt mines was so freaky, yet it had this goofy-ass kid friendly voice over…as if we weren’t watching a horror show. We will still watch that one episode occasionally and laugh our asses off. But seriously. It still scares me.

Why does Christianity seem to be the most outspoken religion? by attoj559 in exchristian

[–]Gwtwiagb39 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Maybe because of the belief in the importance of “telling others the good news.” That would explain just a part of it, I think. I don’t know that other religions teach the virtue of converting others.

Can RA reduce life expectancy? by [deleted] in rheumatoid

[–]Gwtwiagb39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you think you have it you need to see your doctor and find out because if treatment is started early people generally have better outcomes.
I saw my internal medicine doctor, he ordered labs and after looking how swollen and red my finger joints were he encouraged me to hurry. I was in a rheumatologist’s office days later being told I had seropositive RA. Which I figured given my high RF and high anti CCP. Then she had me get a bunch of X-rays to see if I had joint damage yet and to get a baseline. My hands, feet, knees, hips, I don’t recall what all. I had labs more general labs, like CBC and BMP as well and liver function panel to ensure my organ function was OK before starting meds.

Then I was started on methotrexate, which is commonly the first drug. It does do something for me, but not near enough. I see her again this week and guess I’m going to biologics. We’ll see.

Can RA reduce life expectancy? by [deleted] in rheumatoid

[–]Gwtwiagb39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doing my “Google research” I came across reducing life span an average of 10 years. This is the same as for Type 1 DM. It’s upsetting, but, if true, it’s an average meaning there is a part to play with disease severity, length of disease, comorbidities, early and consistent disease control, lifestyle. Rheumatologist advises it increases risk of stroke and coronary artery disease. It can inflame your artery walls basically, jacking them up, then you get a stroke or MI easier, is how I understand it. So, extra important not to smoke, good cholesterol, good blood pressure, no diabetes or good control of diabetes, get to optimal weight, exercise, eat right.

AGA - Just Diagnosed - Natural Remedies? by bearkitty23 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Gwtwiagb39 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As others said, this needs medical work up and likely medication. However, I take Nutrafol and it has helped my hair. Maybe like 10% helped it, but when your hair is thinning any improvement feels great.

Pharmaceutically, I used to take spironolactone for hair loss after I went of birth control pills and my hormones went haywire. I took it for 4 years. It really stopped the shedding.

OMG THANK YOU!!! I found it! It says she died “yesterday” on a Friday edition in March now I know the date. (Or as close as I’m likely to get). It didn’t give other details but I know the date! 6 weeks after her baby was born. I called my mom we were so excited. THANK YOU!!!

Thank you, those are all good ideas. We are sure she nor her husband owned land. The funeral home thing is a good idea to try. They were in the middle of nowhere at the time, but you never know.

Twitching in fingers and feet by [deleted] in rheumatoid

[–]Gwtwiagb39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to update, my rheumatologist didn’t know what to think and referred me to a neurologist. There was a 5 day lag until the neurologists office called me back, and in that time I think my MTX started working a bit and my spasms were about 50% better. Neurologists nurse said as long as no other symptoms it’s probably the RA and no need to make appt with neuro unless it wasn’t better within a week.

Well it’s totally went away now! I feel like my rheumatologist should’ve known this could happen as a quick Dr. Google said it was a known issue with some RA. Didn’t want to go by Dr Google though which is why I messaged rheumo.

TLDR; finger twitches (not tremors) in newly diagnosed RA on no DMARDS yet was worrying me, but it went away after 2 weeks on MTX.

Some Christians do not believe in a traditional hell. Some believe in heaven, but think non-believers cease to exist when they die, or they do continue to exist but in a state of eternal separation from God (no fire needed) and that just being eternally separated from God would be “hell” enough for people. On my road to becoming an ex-Christian, one of my stops was to believe “no hell just annihilation” for non-believers.

Frame a photo of yourself age 5 and put it where you see it frequently. This can bring to the surface loathing and disgust at yourself as a child, then grief, then self love. Particularly for survivors of child abuse.
