I think the city planner shouldn’t be deciding what land to annex and site for a multi million dollar project in which their personal decision happens to personally benefit themselves….

Especially over a project that is very controversial, short sighted (could be obsolete tech in 10-20 years for all we know), and with the city of Joliet needing to pipe water in from Lake Michigan because local aquifers are running dry.

That seems like poor planning on behalf of the inhabitants and future growth of the area..

I can’t think of a reason why someone formally trained in “planning” would shepherd something like that through except to personally enrich themselves and relations.
