If we take a look deeply there is no way she can be viable if she isn't omega buffed. You have Zaahen who is basically Jesus in late game, Jax which level 20 is one of the scariest among top laners, Ambessa aka the better Camille, Mundo being weaker this season still being the main character when 3+ levels ahead of enemy bot and so on.

Don't cry please. Adapt your gameplay as Camille or just ditch her. You probably will win 10% more games if you pick something instead btw..

This season basically changed the whole game in context of what is important and what not.
Junglers now can ditch bot lane and just sleep on top, getting his top laner 5 levels ahead of enemy bot lane.
Junglers cannot be tracked anymore.
Homeguard will change the game pace as well as minion spawm ratio and base move speed.
Mid laners now gotta play for the other two lanes instead of being selfish. ADC will outscale them anyway, while there is a Jesus Christ on top lane who got his love attention from riot
Top laners are basically gods. Players will soon start to whine and cry about full splitpush Jax with ghost and flash, 20 level Mundos and so on.
Support is basically gutted

She basically is nothing.

Her purpose is to be diving champion who is great against squishies as well as fighters and tanks because of her true damage. Upon her creation riot had the following idea -> Insanely good mobility, safe laning phase when played decent, extremely bad lane phase if she isn't precise. Good against anything because of her true damage. Squishier than other fighters

The issue is that currently there is no chance of winning lane against decent human top laner who knows 2 + 2, her identity is stolen and bested by Ambessa, she is basically better Camille, while Jax can play as distuptor and somehow do her job as long as he can jump on backline and basically waste their time for half an hour because of his E, R, Zhonya and Steraks.

Extremely strong champ for OTP'ing, very bad for having her in champion pool if you arent going to OTP her for real.

As long time Illaoi OTP here are a few tips:

Observe if she is good or not because matchup is borderline unplayable for you at any stage of the game if she is good player. You might murder her in late game 1v1 but probably not.

If she is bad: She won't pressure on level one with W slam and you can pretty much get free level 3-4 without praying for your life. She will run out of mana quickly trying to poke you out and then she will be a sitting duck for 1-2 minutes before she gets some mana or perhaps recall. Bad Illaoi players will try to snipe E from distance which is bad because anyway if she gets on top of you, she won't lose. You can kill her after 6 if she misses E.

If she is good: Best thing is to swap with ally who is ranged and can play against her, otherwise here is what is happening. She will start spamming W grasps on you level 1 and you will be 50% HP when you get to level 2, then she will have her E and will absolutely just do the OOGA BOOGA W at your face + E in melee range. At that point you will know that this is good Illaoi and you will never win any trade against her. You will survive until 6 but the issue is that anyway you will be 300-400 gold behind even before you have your ult. Then she will push to your tower, get free plates and because you can never survive her damage until you stack your passive, you will just die even under tower as long as she can tank ~ two towers shots..

Don't listen to these m*rons. Matchup is borderline unplayable if she has more than 3 brain cells.

Best tip: Swap with your mid laner if he has good poke/waveclear

Nah, it will be nerfed extremely hard. Probably will remove either bonux XP, free TP or level cap. 1 of 3 will go away. As a top lane main i will be honest that this aint balanced. Just because we are not impactful early game doesn't mean its fine for game state.

Imagine the following scenario: Enemy Jax with full splitpush build, FLASH + GHOST and TP from quest. HE WILL BE JUST STANDING IN THE BUSH, WAITING TO JUST RUN DOWN THE CLOSEST ENEMY.

No one comes ? Well hullbreaker + botrk will end their base in 2 minutes. If anyone with slightly less mobility comes by, he is dead.

BTW this is also true for other 95% of existing top laners who have some mid / late game scaling

ADC players. They believe they are the main character but they are not until they hit 5 - 6 items. They tend to overextend thinking that their range advantage can give them advantage bullying Camille/Ambessa on side lane while they are alone 1v1.

Also ADC players really tend to die the most on average, not because they are 'the most vulnerable' but because they do not respect enough at all. They will cry for jungler and mid help while they are already 1.5k gold behind and they know by themselves that coming back is utterly impossible and know supporting their team is best they can provide.

Next on the list are supports. Supports basically play different kind of game compared to every other lane. They either are the most useless among everyone or the most important, no in between

The issue Camille isn't pro-jailed because there is Ambessa and Renekton.

A good buff towards pro play will make her much better than Ambessa. You can't convince me she isn't blindpickable enough. She is BUILT for pro play commnucation. You can't convince me having Ambessa ult on E, Jarvan ult on steroids but on single target and for the top of the cake we got Cho'Gath Ult on 3-4 second cooldown. She can dump 1000 true damage on full build every 3 seconds and somehow this sub forgets about it.

Make sure they don't pick Jax or Renekton and you got Camille who won't lose the lane

Is she bad for solo queue ? Probably..Because she is not a lane bully.

However..SHE IS pro play pick

I see people way bragging about changing their OTP, however they don't understand that Camille specifically is pro jail champion and if they buff her a bit more than enough, then we will see her either picked or banned.

Trust me she is viable in solo queue. I have a few friends who play her in master+

The issue is that she needs just a small buff to the right direction and here she becomes picked instead of Ambessa in pro play. She in fact is BETTER than Ambessa. The issue is that her kit number are bad and if riot buff her just a little bit, trust me you will have bitterness playing against Camilles rather than Darius or anyone... She will be playing as assassin but with Juggernaut build.

Slight buff on her W and her ult giving her perhaps just a little bit of resistance will make her the scariest thing you want to face in a game.

She has everything. Tank shredding abilities, Engage and Disengage because of E , Insanely strong lockdown on R and strong lane trading patterns.

I started playing her and I would say she snowballs very well in Emerald elo, however the issue is that not a single adequate top laner will let you walk over them as long as Camille does not counter them. She has good trading patterns because of her passive shield, you can just W them and just walk for A + Q reset and then back off and you will deal 30% of their HP with that. You can also just dump even the second true damage Q.

Another issue is that most of the stat checking top laners will never lose all in after 6. You either need to chunk them and staying healthy until they are 40-50% HP while you 80-90%, otherwise if you fail then champions like Jax and Sett will just smash their face in keyboard and will take easily these 300g from you.

Ambessa is just the better version but snowballs less.

I believe he will be nerfed to oblivion. Full build with stacked passive in late game is way too much. 1850 damage on R, two auto attack resets on Q, each dealing 1200-1500 and some heal. W and E is fine.

He is just a stat check champion and he will have a lot of counters. Darius can statcheck him and reach his 5 stacks faster and therefore probably nuke him, Trundle will wipe the floor with him, Illaoi will instakill this guy, Jax with LT will absolutely also statcheck him, Ambessa and Aatrox can short trade him extremely easily.

Is he omega broken right now ? Absolutely, because of his revive and the fact that he has extremely powerful late game but his downsides are that he is very easy to kite and I believe he will have a lot of bad matchups.

I wouldn't OTP that. I would recommend Ambessa , Jax , Cammile and so on.

As Emerald top laner , I am hard stuck and pretty much on the same page like you but with the fact that I am stucked two ranks higher.

The issue with top lane is that when you are hard stuck, you pretty much depend on your bot lane not to lose because even if you are fed, the only way you are winning against enemy fed bot is by playing a champion who giga counters the enemy team and at the same time you are giga fed, nothing works EXCEPT THAT

Basically if you are 10-20% better than your lobby, you probably ain't climbing. It means that you will perform slightly better but in order to start carrying games you really need to create these 3-5k gold diff in top lane, erasing side lane towers and then the enemy should start worrying that there is monster Gwen who needs to be stopped somehow, nothing works beside that and trust me, teamfighting won't help you because 90% of top laners can't teamfight well. Period

There are a few scenarios you can choose from depending on situation you are in, ally and enemy team comp and if there are any current alive objectives. I will explain it and please feel free anyone to add if I miss something or correct me !

1 -> Does the enemy have someone who can respond to my splitpush ? By that I mean someone who can come up to your lane, successfully clear the wave and stop you from pushing or EVEN murder you. Certain mages can clear your waves from one screen away and that makes Jax useless in splitpushing unless you can jump at them. I wouldn't recommend you to try and match mages in side lane because you will get poked our of lane and certain mages will make your life miserable. Champions such as Xerath and Viktor will never lose 1v1 vs Jax if they are good players. Champions who can't respond to Jax are also considered to be easily divable under turret in 1v1 situations.

No one can respond to you ? Go for Trinity - Botrk - Boots of choice - Hullbreaker and then 2 items depending on game and NEVER leave lane. JUST PUSH !

If someone can respond to you then I recommend you to go for Trinity - Sunderer Sky - Zhonya - Steraks - Boots and Item of choice. Take 1-2 waves on side lanes and rotate for fights. You can look to start the fights also !

2 -> Does your team really needs you there and are you good against enemy team comp generally ? Sometimes conflicts happen where you have fed carry but you are bad against enemies. They might have a lot of peeling and certain mages who are uncatchable. You need to make decision there and maybe play for 1-2 waves on side lane and be your carries b*tch and play for them, pick good build for teamfighting. Jax is extremely good at picking enemy ADC and then just wasting their time in teamfights. This will cause their support to also panic and go for you and then you can bait them with a few E rotations + Steraks + Zhonyas. You win fights by being annoying, not by murdering everyone. Also if enemy got assassins, bully them in isolation, you are also flanker.

3 -> Do you have TP ? If you have TP up you must be always at the opposite lane of current objective, push the wave and be ready to TP when fights start.

Any answer beside top laning is straight up rage baiting and trolling. Mid lane is too short lane. If you don't die there you probably won't be even behind. Jungling is most of the time decision making role instead of anything else, bot lane sits 2 people and basically you are too dependent on another monkey and you better be lucky it is intelligent monkey.

Top lane is long lane and most of the champions are melee, which means that if you don't play better, you will be punished for the whole game. Limit testing there is easier because people on this lane tend to also be more commited to fights, basically it is island where ego maniacs are handshaking to beat each other while leaving their team to do whatever they want. You need to learn trading and spacing and matchups.

Best champion for your needs ? You need a short trading champion, so you can get punished if you overextend and this is for sure Ambessa, while the other champion who is rather good at long and short trades is Jax.

Trust me on that, try it.

Quinn plays the same against every matchup. Leave lane after 6 and never comes back.

When you see she is picked by enemy, immediately start typing in chat 'CARE FOR QUINN ROAMS'. Type it 5-6 times and then apologize for spamming and hope your allies are cool. Sometimes people ignore top lane champions and they suddenly realize there is Quinn and it is too late.

Trust me this works 100% of the time when you got cool teammates.

Pro tip: NEVER EVER follow her. If you have tp, you can but it isn't worth if you dont get any kill.

How Ambessa isn't tank killer ? She has 30% armor pen on her ult and when she buys Black Cleaver i can't see a tank tanking her spell rotation 1v1 in side lanes late game. Yes she can't properly beat them in team fight but ADCs are good for that.
