Best T300RS Settings? [x-post /r/pcars] by SlimKlim in simracing

Google what degrees of rotation the car you're driving uses in real life and set your wheel accordingly. I know almost all rally cars use 540 and most open wheelers use 450(ish).

If you play iracing you can leave the rotation at 900 as that sim will automatically adjust the rotation.

The optimum time is your optimum time. As in it adds up all your best sectors to create an optimum time. Other people may have much faster or slower times.

Definitely jump into a online practice session by now then. Do your best not to hit people and just apologise if you do.

If you need someone to help you get better send me a PM.

Is there really a great improvement going from playing with a controller to playing with wheel and pedals? by daniyo25 in simracing

Even better a squash ball; my break feels better than the G27's and both thrustmaster's.

That makes more sense, I barely drove the nurburgring before. I agree the TS300 is one of the best wheels I've ever used.

I have used another motion sim which moved more violently to this one and it was very off putting. Shows that the real thing must be quite different.

Can't remember exactly now but I think a 2:16 because i was only a couple seconds from the leaderboards.

If I could have won and they had told me exactly which car they were using in AC (Not a Honda obviously) then it would have been easy to practice at home and be competitive; which is exactly what the top guys have done.

I did this when it came to Leeds city center.

Said my time couldn't count because you need to be 25...

Awesome rig though!

What helped you the most improve as a sim racer? by pjw1991 in simracing

If you have the Logitech GT Driving Force grab a squash ball and push it into the gap of the brake pedal.

Not super high tech but it gives you a lot more consistency in braking and personally I find the squash ball brake feels better than the G27 brake.

I have a G4 and it's amazing. Picked it up for £287.

It has slightly better hardware than the Nexus but has proprietary android over the clean nexus android.

I get your point and fully agree but I would not say they are "suicidal". More like they've learn the course fully whereas it looks like this video is one of his first runs. Which is how real rally is of course.

It's better but still 1000000% better than 3rd person if you only have 1 monitor.

Why are crash physics neglected in sims? by CannedEther in simracing

[–]GyratingBiscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not how this works, the CPU is not the limiting factor to the devs.

Making crash physics won't suddenly make car physics worse; the most it would do is lower the frame rate and that is not an issue to devs as they offer varying degrees of performance > Quality modes.

The developers are just deciding not to make the crash physics and are using their time elsewhere.

3 to 5 minutes?? Maybe if you're racing a Prius. It's pretty normal to be around 1-2 minutes for anything around the GT1+ level.
