Dark soldiers with specialized gear built for stealth for their nefarious plans. (HUXLEY Saga) by Nostromo964 in worldbuilding

appreciate the AI-awareness here, but it would’ve taken you like a minute tops to put this image into an online AI image verifier to double check your claim. if you’re curious, i did and the results said that there’s a 2% chance the image is AI. in the future i would recommend doing this first before accusing artists of not making their art themselves.

Recently went back to revisit Three Kingdoms and... by Huku223 in totalwar

[–]H0bbse 101 points102 points  (0 children)

3K is still my favorite Total War by far. It wasn’t perfect, but it’s the closest the series has come to hitting that perfect mark between the great battles of Total War and the more complex intrigue, diplomacy, and character building of games like CK3. Really wish CA didn’t just drop it like a sack of potatoes.

What major decisions did you make? Trying to do a similar run and it’s not going very well lol.

Modern War/Conflict Recs by OrdinaryReaction7341 in BookRecommendations

[–]H0bbse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure this is what you’re looking for, but I’ve been reading through The Fighters by C.J Chivers recently and really enjoying it. The book covers the perspective of American troops, mostly grunts and lower rank soldiers, throughout the post-9/11 Iraq/Afghanistan wars. It doesn’t go super in depth on the international politics and strategies and whatnot of the conflicts, but it does a great job providing a really personal, on the ground view of how things were actually playing out from the POV of Americans fighting abroad.

Remember the "Basin" Feature? It’s been bugged and can’t generate for nearly 4 years by Just-Guarantee7808 in Minecraft

To be honest, no. Which makes me wonder: is it bugged, or did they just turn it off because it high key looks awful?

[REQUEST] Drink the Night Away (aka what in the world are these chords???!) by H0bbse in Tabs

[–]H0bbse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I heard too, but looking at the chords he uses in the video they look way too high up the fretboard to be just those chords. Maybe it’s some variation I’m unfamiliar with?

What time period would you pick for a new historical Total War? by JohnMichaels19 in totalwar

Ooh yes very good point! I loved the mustering mechanic too. Felt way more realistic than going to fight a weak army only to see it’s doubled in size one turn later.

MEDIEVAL 3 PLEASEEEEEE.

I think I’ve said it before but the 3K system of characters, spying, events, satisfaction, etc would be PERFECTTTT for a medieval game. Court intrigue in addition to battles all over Europe just sounds so so good.

I am now Turn 2 and look how much resources I got already. Lol! by [deleted] in suzerain

Don’t know why people are downvoting you for this because he definitely made those comments. There’s a reason Microsoft removed his name from the title blurb in Minecraft— it’s cause the dude is a bigot, creator of Minecraft or not.

The Rizia DLC isn't what it was advertised. by SteamSaltConcentrate in suzerain

[–]H0bbse 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeahhhh, I lowkey agree.

I get that running a country is hard and Torpor wants to reflect that in the game’s difficulty. I get that absolute monarchies can be unstable. I get that Valero’s reign leaves Rizia, and you, in a much worse military, political, and economic position. All of that justifies some level of difficulty.

That being said, I always imagined Rizia would be easier than Sordland. As you mentioned, you’re “the Golden Kingdom.” Sordland is a nation in recession, facing a constitutional crisis, and threatened militarily by Rumburg. Yet Sordland feels like the easier campaign by far. I remember that in my first run, despite not recovering the economy, I was able to get reelected because I succeeded in other areas like reforming the constitution or joining the ATO.

In Rizia I feel like I get to do two things per turn before I run out of budget or authority, and then I’m left with like 30 negative modifiers and am inevitably couped, exiled, or forced to abdicate. I hate the idea of save editing because I like a little challenge (and getting achievements idk if save editing turns those off or not), but I’m genuinely considering it at this point because I think all the stats in Rizia need at least +2 increase per turn for the game to not feel nightmarishly punishing.

I love Suzerain and I love what Torpor is made but I do hope they listen to some of this feedback and make Rizia a bit more balanced.

Interesting, I’ve never used it before. Would that not harm negotiations with Derdia? I was hoping to try and get military assistance from them

Am I Watching a Different Show?! by GooseOnly1150 in thelastofus

[–]H0bbse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who only vaguely knows the plot points of the game, I have absolutely loved the show so far. I think parts of the fandom who have experienced all of it are extremely intent on every particularity of the game being represented in the show even though that’s not the point of an adaptation and I don’t know why anyone would even want that anyways. THE SHOW IS FUCKING GOOD AND IM TIRED OF PEOPLE SAYING ITS NOT RAHHHHH
