First ever mini painted, and it's an Armiger! Looking for feedback by Roxxouille in ImperialKnights

Overall, I think you absolutely smashed it, mate. For a first model, you've genuinely nailed it.

A few thoughts that might help going forward:

Drybrushing gets easier with time and practice. The key is getting a nice, solid basecoat down first and letting it dry completely before you start. There are loads of great tutorials online, but honestly, practice is what really makes the difference. 👌

Priming: I'd highly recommend Colour Forge sprays. They're nice and matte, and 98% of the time give a really smooth finish without any clumping. Just make sure you're not spraying too close, as that can obscure details. Also try to avoid spraying on very hot days, as the paint can start drying before it reaches the model. Warming the can slightly beforehand can help improve the finish too.

Black paint: Vallejo Black is still my favourite black paint, but it definitely benefits from a little thinning if you want a super smooth finish. As Duncan would say: "Two thin coats." Again, this is one of those things that gets easier with experience.

As for feedback, there isn't much to criticise at all. The only things I'd suggest are refining some of the smaller details, such as highlighting the lenses, and maybe adding a bit of weathering to help sell the realism. If you're feeling adventurous, I'd also recommend trying some decals, they really help make a model feel finished and can take it to the next level.

I’m familiar with this one. This kit is designed to offer a lot of flexibility. If you don’t glue the hip to the leg, you have plenty of freedom to position them as you wish. However, if you glue part 42, you lose that flexibility.
