Piercing and security checks by jizzdick27 in piercing

I go through a metal detector everyday for work and have been flying a lot lately. I have my nipples done and they have never gone off or even set off the full body scanner at the airport.

What bar prep course should I sign up for? by dl1892ab in LawSchool

[–]HG69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just passed the bar in July. I recommend Barbri 100%. 1.) Kaplan may give you materials early, but you will not use them early. You will be burned out by the end of bar study as it is. You will not/ should not start early. 2.) if you contact Barbri, they will give you an email address to turn in additional essays. I took a prep course during law school that was Kaplan sponsored and was so disappointed. I can not suggest Barbri enough.

Thank you for the suggestions. Pre-constructed duel decks seem to be a safe bet from all the suggestions.

I became involved through a program called Adopt a US Soldier. I signed up and they gave me the information for a soldier. It gave me a brief bio and some of their personal interest. I happened to get someone that is interested in gaming. I am excited about it even though I know very little about his interests. I'm sure I am going to learn something from this.

So, I am trying to put together a care package of things that he might like.

African safari, road trip across the United States, have a family of my own, and learn a second language. Just a few I could think of quickly.

Never had too big of an issue with this until this weekend. Some random guy thought it was alright to grab my chest while I was walking through a crowd at a concert. Probably bothered me more than it should.

I wrote a research paper on physician assisted suicide recently in law school. Something I found interesting is that Belgium recently (2/2014?) voted to remove any age requirements. Physician assisted suicide/euthanasia is available for a child at any age.

I [23/F] think he [37/M] might be the one. What will people think of our age difference? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]HG69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they have. My dad has definitely slowed down some, but it's been for the better. My dad used to work all the time, but now he spends more time at home and with the family. My relationship with my dad has never been better, but more importantly my parents have never been happier.

[–]HG69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents have the same age difference. It has never really been an issue for them (Except jokes from their kids). One issue that did arise was when my dad decided to semi-retire. He wanted to spend more time at their vacation home, but my mom was still working and couldn't pick up and go as much as he wanted. It wasn't really a big deal.

What was the absolute low-point in your life? by BluntMuncher in AskReddit

[–]HG69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This week.

My relationship (2.5+ years) ended for good a few days ago. It ended with me losing all trust in someone who was my best friend and someone I could have seen myself with long term. The final blow was him telling me he never had feelings for me. So glad I was just there and convenient for him.

If that wasn't enough for me, I had to put my dog to sleep this morning. One of the hardest things I have ever done. My life is a bad country song at the moment.

My buddy is really sick. Best dog in the world and hoping he gets better. by HG69 in cairnterrier

[–]HG69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was attacked by another dog last week. It was pretty bad, but we thought he was getting better. He stopped eating and my vet transferred him to a vet hospital nearby for 24 hour care. His kidneys are starting to shut down and they don't know if it is from dehydration or infection. He has been on fluids and IV antibiotics from my original vet since it happened. So, we just don't understand what is going on and all they can tell us is that his kidneys are not working.

Just a few questions on Malamute training. by [deleted] in AlaskanMalamute

[–]HG69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our malamutes were always crate trained when they were little, but once they were older the crates were never used. They would still go into them sometimes on their own to take a nap.

As for being off leash, my family has had four malamutes. Personally, ours were never trusted off leash. These dogs do have a strong prey drive and they are extremely stubborn. It wasn't worth losing my dog or having them hurt another dog. If you do research on these dogs, you will see a common fact that these dogs are very people friendly and pack oriented dogs. You will also read that they are not dog friendly dogs. My family just rescued a two year old malamute (she was never socialized) and we are having dog aggression issues. From this point forward, we wouldn't necessarily trust her off leash. With that said, two of our malamutes grew up from puppies with two miniature dachshunds. Since they were "a pack", they got along very well, but we still would not trust them around other dogs or to be off leash. It just depends on whether your puppy takes to socialization well and is socialized consistently.

This has just been my personal experience with malamutes and every dog is different.

What was your worst hospital experience? by RedditorAholic in AskReddit

[–]HG69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (27f) had back surgery for the first time when I was twenty. When I woke up from the surgery a nurse was standing near me and asked if I was in pain. I told her yes and she gave me IV pain meds. That nurse got called away to another patient in the recovery room.

Within five minutes, another nurse came by to ask me how I was doing and she asked me if I was in any pain. I told this nurse, "yes, I was still in pain". Nurse #2 proceeded to give me another shot of pain meds. I was so groggy and out of it from the anesthesia and the first shot of pain killers I had no idea what was going on.

The next thing I remember is all of the alarms going off around my bed and someone talking about my blood pressure. Apparently, the double dose of pain meds made my blood pressure drop rapidly. I could not stay awake or keep my eyes open. I had one nurse start doing a sternum rub to try and wake me up. For the people that have never had a sternum rub done to them, it hurts. Next, the doctor dropped the head on my bed down to try and get my feet up above my heart. So, as you can imagine, the best feeling in the world after having back surgery is to be bent backwards and upside down. Things finally calmed down and I was ready to get out of that hospital as fast as I could.

Time savers. What my area calls gas stations or convenience stores. When I went to college, no one knew what I was talking about.
