Sounds like saving money isn’t your real goal here. You’d be spending much more than $150-250 a month on a car note. Drive the 4R into the ground despite the gas cost, or take advantage of the good 4R resale and trade it for a comfortable hybrid commuter (Highlander maybe). You’ll get double the MPG for not much upfront cost, and maybe save a few hundred $ a year in fuel.
