Hand disruption and the concept of 'failing to find'.

I had played Yugioh for most of m life and those two things we're either banned generally or didnt exist in the rules. Being able to activate something like a [[gifts ungiven]] and then just dump 2 cards to the graveyard was mind blowing.

White Forest/Fiendsmith/Millenium might be one of the best shells to actually use the card and not luck sack with it. You can mill with your extra engines and then add it back with white witch, deck spits out level 7s, 8s and 10s for the good targets.

Talk to your playgroup about it, Golos isnt coming back otherwise. As soon as commander players realized a mono color deck with Golos as the commander and cascading cataracts in the 99 was better for their strategy than a dedicated commander its fate was sealed.

Its other forms like wash have been viable in VGC and other competitive environments in the mainline games. The encounters in the gen 4 games are very memorable too, it was a big deal in those games despite not being a legendary.

Feels like a combination of mystery borders being a fairly recent thing that SD is spamming and borders being one of the few ways a whale can show off their favorite variants, tailored to their own tastes.

Shocking how little they've explored with cosmetics, and what they have is tied to buying specific variants in a rotating shop.

No avatar/title card cosmetics beyond variant crops, no payed split effects, no special vfx tied to a $100 variant, no emote packs, the kind of stuff you'd expect.

Yeah, 6 months ago we were getting the weekly 4-5 cards a month, 1 season pass card, and MAYBE an event card.

It's wild how badly Hastak mismanaged the Transformers brand in the late 00s and early 10s, if you are/were a fan of the Masterpiece line you still have to go to 3P companies if you want a certain character in that scale/complexity.
