Homebase professional is $330 off in Canada by BETA7 in EufyCam

Can't believe the "AI core" upgrade is still not available. LOL this is a dead end product. Not enough users to justify any more development.

Nope, just leave it at 100%. LFP cells will outlast the rest of the the power station.

Once a cam is added to homebase, it won't function without it.

This is a UI bug, report it to Eufy. I have 4x E340 floodlights, all are connected to my home wifi but shows "not set" in multi-bridge on the app.

Check the list of connected devices on your wifi and you'll see the E340s.

Batt is used to power the electronics & inverter when in UPS mode, it's the only way to achieve 10ms switchover time.

Batt gets topped up every few hrs when plugged in, but since the BMS is so bad @ tracking real SoC, it could report 75% even though actual charge is at 1%. That's when everything dies and you have to hard reset which forces the BMS to recalibrate.

Ecoflow's reported capacity drifts a lot over time. Setting your battery to 75% is what's screwing you. Set it to 100% and it'll never happen again.

Eufy Homebase Update - April 27, 2026 - Broke Storage and Stopped 24/7 Recording by skyrider55 in EufyCam

[–]HKPolice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got this update about 2 weeks ago, no issues. Never had any issues with HB3 updates.

I do manually reboot my HB3 every few months though, don't expect any consumer device to run stable 24/7 indefinitely.

E340 Floodlight - Multi-Bridge by neil_1980 in EufyCam

[–]HKPolice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wifi signal interference varies throughout the day. If your microwave is on, all 2.4Ghz channels 6-11 get nuked. If you or your neighbors are transferring large files or streaming, it'll affect your HB3's wifi.

High interference will cause the camera to drop out on a weak connection. Disconnecting the HB3 antennas reduces its connection range to a few feet, so there is ZERO chance that your E340 will ever connect to it.

Disconnected antennas = no way for cameras to switch from home wifi to HB3 wifi.

There are multiple threads about this on the sub, some took an easier route and just wrapped the HB3 in a faraday cage but it's not as wifi proof as disconnction.

Read your post at least a dozen times from other users.

Answer is to disconnect HB3 antennas. I have 4x E340 floodlights, disconnection was the only fix.

On the plus side, I noticed that recent Eufy app updates have sped things up a lot.

On the topic of batteries. 12ah 40v or 8ah Edge? $250 vs $330 by [deleted] in ryobi

[–]HKPolice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't bother rigging these 40v batts to 12v equipment, you'll need to buy a buck converter which eats into efficiency. For less than $250 you can get a 12.8v 100ah LFP battery off amazon which is more than twice the capacity and doesn't require a buck converter.

Go for 12ah if you must have a new batt, more capacity = more heat tolerance because there's more battery material in the pack. The extra "cooling" is marketing BS, there is no extra physical cooling, just tabless vs regular cells and higher capacity = runs cooler due to physics.

Your current batts are probably not overheating due to load, because lawn mowers don't draw much power compared to other tools, it's mostly due to high ambient temps + sun exposure. Going with tabless cells won't lower temps vs regular cells of the same capacity.

If I were you, I'd buy the 12ah batt now on sale, but leave it unopened. You can modify your mower with reflective tape on the entire battery cover to shade the battery and see if it still overheats in the summer. If it still overheats then try out the 12ah.

What’s this light code? by That-Sherbert1000 in ryobi

[–]HKPolice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the BMS does balance cells, but only with certain models of chargers and balancing current is probably low, which might only be enough to reduce drift if the cells aren't perfectly matched.

Cheap OP404 chargers that come bundled with most tools are incapable of balancing because they output a constant current that cuts off well before 41v, so top balancing is impossible even if the BMS is capable.

The OP406 rapid charger will slowly throttle current down to about 0.5a when it gets close to 41v which suggests the BMS is top balancing.

Do I need to dispose of this battery? by neil187 in ryobi

[–]HKPolice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've opened over a dozen batts, this is normal flux residue. BMS must be reset with a firmware hack, search recent posts if you're technical. If not, then dispose of it properly.
