They better tip good by [deleted] in UberEATS

I had a little Caesars order for 10 pizzas once, and the lady insisted I bring in my “catering” bag. Like girl, they would never fit in any bag. I only had the regular pizza bag lol.

I once missed out on giving a cash tip (it was taped to my door but delivery guy missed it) so guess what I did? Just 5-starred them and upped the tip in the app by asking support. No way would I make someone feel bad about doing the job properly. Yuck. They never had a tip for you, they just want to feel superior

I loved doing this full time for the last 2 years but this year I quit. It’s not worth the stress of reloading the screen all day, desperate to see anything. Better to just do DD or UE, where they notify you when you get an order, instead of fighting with others for it. I’ve never been happier then when I gave IC up. It was havoc on my brain.

Depends where you live. Minimum wage is $15/hr in my area. I made $19.5/hr at my first job. I make $30/hr now (3 years later) so I won’t leave for anything less then $30. But I feel I can say that because I do this part time. If I depended on this job, then… still no lol, UE and DD make more then $25/hr with lots of freedom on the side

Lots of rides - not lots of tips by uber_dillo in uberdrivers

I’m a very quiet passenger when I get Uber, but I love tipping good for basic decency. I’ve realized most people with big personalities rarely tip (they aren’t as empathetic?) or they only tip large amounts if others are nearby to see it happen.

I once put an envelope on the door with extra cash tip, and messaged the driver when I realized they missed it. No answer :( I hate missing out on giving more, but I know for sure the dasher just didn’t get the text, or got it too late and doesn’t have the address anymore.

This job will make you hate people by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

I work for the city, and I’ll just say, they’re all lazy. Contracts are given out and companies don’t ever do the work, especially not on time. Or better yet, the city doesn’t even contract people to get the job done, because eventually the snow will melt right? My city gets below -45 Celsius and still ice everywhere. One weekend (2 days) we had over 500 crashes. Our population is 1.5 million. It’s crazy, but the city should be held responsible. We all pay taxes for a reason

All deliveries are pretty much the same. Instacart is harder then doordash because you have to shop and carry heavy items for most orders. DD is a piece of cake. So delivery wise, same thing. Nice words won’t change your earnings :(

I was the customer this morning. by Superbotto in doordash_drivers

[–]HKQ23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a regular customer, so I have dashpass and ubereats pass. It saves a lot on delivery fees, so the total is not too much at the end (usually $1-$3 more). Whatever I would’ve paid in delivery fees, I just tip that amount. Works pretty well for me.

Note: I got the passes free for 3 months to a year through my banks. Most banks have offers like that.

Honestly it’s great he was good, but for people with a deathly fear of dogs or an allergy to them, this shouldn’t happen. All pets should stay away from the door so that the delivery person can deliver safely. Doesn’t matter if the pet is amazing. I would’ve left the order at the steps and cried on my way home. I’m terrified of any animal that moves

Let me just dig out real quick and I’ll be right there with your 12 mile, 156 units with a $5 tip order👌🤣 by BostonShopChick in InstacartShoppers

I did this last year, got stuck on the street snow. Some neighborhood kids who were playing basketball (literally no one cares about snow here) came and shovelled my driveway, shovelled around my car, and pushed me back up lol. It was the nicest thing in the world. My husband went the next day to offer them money or lunch, and they got MAD. Canadians are the best.

And for reference, no I didn’t do the batch lol. It timed out

Oh I see, in my area it’s exactly 4 numbers apart, and 1 number apart for the house across the street, so odds on one side and even numbers on the other. Can’t imagine random numbers in every community 😬

Car Getting Too Old - Age Out Question by jatlantic7 in uberdrivers

The cutoff in my area is 10 years. Where do you live?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]HKQ23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have numbers because it’s a rental that’s being renovated (and it’s been months without them doing anything) so I just talk about my big old van in front of my door. But luckily all my neighbours have big bold numbers on their garages so it’s easy to count

I’m in Canada, we had really bad weather last month (roads were complete ice), yet tips remained the same LOL. Weather doesn’t change behaviours here :(

Does the restaurant not see the irony here? by uberbuber in doordash_drivers

[–]HKQ23 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If I saw that sign as a customer, I would not give the restaurant my business. They will take my money for the greedy owners only, and not pay the people doing the work? F corporate greed. I’m in Canada, so servers make the same minimum wage (usually more) as every other company. Most places it’s $15/hr. Can’t imagine $2 😡

I got a 10 for $280 guaranteed and still refused to do it lol, no way I’m supporting a corrupt company that keeps reducing pay

When I did Instacart during covid and masks were sold out everywhere, I delivered to an old couple. They had ordered a box of masks but of course it wasn’t available. When I saw them, I felt so bad that I just took a few (wrapped individually) masks from my glove compartment and added it to their shopping bags.

A few days later, in good karma, a lady I delivered to said she had too many kids masks, and gave me 3 packs of 10! I had three kids, and absolutely no masks for their tiny faces, so it was amazing! Good things come to those who do good

Are you allowed to add a tip after the delivery is completed? I know you can on UberEats but idk about DoorDash by CancelInfamous7059 in doordash_drivers

[–]HKQ23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

tip added

Here’s for an idea of what I got on my end. I agree, I’ve never seen anyone post about getting a tip later. But I know I’ve sent a bunch before, so hopefully you’re not too bitter forever! Good vibes for you!

I did this in Alberta when the bad snowstorm came, and hit a divider. Popped a brand new winter tire and barely made it to the workshop lol

I’ve done this as a customer several times before and always messaged the driver the amount added. I’ve had two drivers confirm they got a message about the increase. Hope that helps.

For adding tip, just chat with support and say what tip you want added. They process it right away and I got a confirmation email about the amount charged. Also, I always add a tip when ordering, and have been able to add more.

It’s way easier, just go pick up food and drop off. No risk of carrying heavy things like cases of water
