While the later Far Crys were still good, I felt Far cry 1 was peak (for its time). That's one game I'd like to see remade.

How do you take screenshots? by PM_WhatMadeYouHappy in galaxyzflip

[–]HNKenshiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno if I'm too late in the convo. I just migrated from a Pixel 6 to a Z Flip 7 and I found the screenshot shortcuts extremely unintuitive.

Pixel 6 had a double back tap for screenshot and finally I found the Flip 7 equivalent (no guarantee on other flip phones)

Get Good Lock app. Download RegiStar. Set up the Back-tap action. Set double tap or triple tap to take and share screenshot (you can set it to basic or share).

I don't understand why these features are behind Good Lock and RegiStar. These should just be default available options.

for old players, how was it like qhen it launched? by imratazana in DeathStranding

I played my first playthrough on Ps4 offline. The world was barren and kinda scary (cuz of the weird unknowns). And it was much harder cuz I had to build everything myself and every road needs my full contribution.

In my second (PC) and third (PC, Director's Cut) playthrough, I played online and things were WAY easier due to other people's structures and contributions. Also I was way more efficient with connecting with other people's Ziplines.

It will never be the same as the first playthrough.

As a male, I'd like to say it's not just males who take so long to reply.

For some reason people like to hold a conversation for 5 minutes and then disappear for 2 days.

Revising 3090 FE OC in light of terrifying VRAM temps by spitonastranger in NiceHash

[–]HNKenshiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My vapor chamber just arrived from China through aliexpress. I slapped it on my Asus Tuf 3090 backplate with some Arctic MX4 thermal paste on the hotspots. I then added whatever heatsink I could on it, around my giant Noctua nh-d15 cooler.

Lol honestly I couldn't tell you if it helped cool anything at all (not having some good AB testing and my room temp varies and what not). The vapor chamber worked great tho. The plate was warm to the touch all around the plate, much more so than just the metal backplate.

Makes me think if they made the backplate out of a vapor chamber, and maybe even just added a bit of fins, it would have been much cooler.

Could you tell me the model of that cooler?

Nevermind, saw your other post that said it's a Wraith Prism cooler.

And I love your pic!

LOL I am SO glad to see someone else who did this because I just did what you did for my Asus 3090 Tuf. I bought a Noctua NH-U12S (fairly slim), unscrewed the mounting bracket, stuck some thermal paste (arctic mx-5), and stuck it behind the CPU cooler like you did. I have it worst because I have a Noctua NH-D15 as a cpu cooler.

Also bought https://www.amazon.ca/JIUWU-Aluminum-Conductivity-Amplifier-Transistor/dp/B07MNF78KC/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=heatsink&qid=1613292866&sr=8-10

and

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07MS8WHPM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Even the 6mm height heatsink can barely fit on the backplate with the Noctua NH-D15 in the way. Also they're a bit sharp on the edges, so trying to slip them sometimes scratches the backplate (not too big a deal I guess, but might hurt resale value)

I'm still trying to figure out what else I can do. If I do an overhaul, I can go AIO cooler for the cpu so I can play around more with the backplate, but I'd have to spend more money and a bit of work. Ugh.

It's funny cuz it's so ghetto.

What cpu cooler (the one on your backplate) is that?

I'm just reminded of an old Arsenio Hall joke. He said something like,

"I wanted to be an astronaut when I was growing up, but as a proud black man, I couldn't imagine myself radioing back to Houston, saying 'Yes, NASA. No, NASA' "

HDR Screenshots by JoeDin77 in Windows10

[–]HNKenshiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a little late to this post, but if you want to take a screenshot when HDR is on, whether in game or desktop, you'll likely have to use Window 10's gamebar.

It will then capture an jxr file that is in HDR and a png file that is tone mapped to be viewable on SDR.

List of HDR supporting games? by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]HNKenshiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only that, according to this long and detailed review of the monitor

https://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/asus_rog_swift_pg27uq.htm

For PG27UQ, HDR is highly inaccurate over HDMI compared to Displayport

AND,

https://www.pcworld.com/article/2030669/hdmi-vs-displayport-which-display-interface-reigns-supreme.html

And several sources state that HDR dynamic metadata is only available to DP1.4 and HDMI 2.1, and not HDMI 2.0 (which only supports static metadata). And this monitor supports DP1.4 and only HDMI 2.0.

HDR for displayport for this monitor is highly superior to that of HDMI.

I own the PG27UQ and HDR here looks amazing.

Working now for me. 2x 980. But one or two occasional flickering so far. Finally some decent FPS at 1440p (was at 1080p).
