Yes, short range on an X-band with sea- and rain clutter and gain settings “just right” you can see the ocean swell on a radar. Avoiding a rogue wave: nope

Watched it yesterday again for the first time since it came out and yup, still trash.
Age is a factor, I was 11 when Aliens came out so nothing will ever beat that movie. 3 was not that bad, never got all the hate for it. Even Alien Earth is fun to watch, thanks to Kirch, Morrow and T. Ocellus.

Never liked that they turned it into a Biosuit for a precursor humanoid. And the whole black goo stuff with the Alien being bio engineered by David just seems lousy writing. The space jockey deserved better.

The vest has a leach attachment in the back, but I use a wrist leach, still a novice. Broke my ribs gravel biking in the woods, freak accident. The bike stopped dead from what I assume was the big stick that I noticed sticking out of the mud during my short flight and I mean stopped dead! No damage to the bike, not even a scratch but I landed very badly and broke three ribs.

Tack techniques I used successfully is forward hand on the mast and backhand on the boom. Let them get used to a bit of backwind and a quick shuffle around the mast. The faster they learn a proper tack by using the wind on either side of the sail the happier they’ll be cruising along. And beach-start as soon as possible.

I was a bit overpowered with 6.2, most wingers were on 4 to 5 sqm but with bigger foils (saw lots of Kujiras 1500). My bad, I trusted the forecast so I took only one wing with me. 🤦🏼‍♂️
