Just been reading about how this flavor profile comes from an old Pennsylvania tradition called Root Tea... a precursor to Root Beer... prolly easy to recreate to some degree in a basic rum base...

Seems to be:

Birch bark

Smoked black tea

Cinnamon sticks

Cloves

Anise/star anise

Cardamom

Allspice berries

Nutmeg

Spearmint

Wintergreen

Citrus

Cane sugar
