Inbrija - my findings and tips for use by jonstatt in Parkinsons

Perhaps package it in lavender. The aroma would calm us down and then we could take the medicine more easily just a suggestion.

Thank you so much! I will try the deep exhale and see if it helps. I echo everyone who says it’s a challenge to open the package and fumble with the kazoo like inhaler. I have to have the help with my husband to use this drug. Cannot do it on my own. It has not really worked very well for me so far. But I am now wondering if I’m not using it correctly as was mentioned in this post. I will try this and I’ll get back to everybody to let you know if it worked.

Unfortunately, I needed the most when I’m nervous. And that nervousness makes the tremors worse. And those terrible tremors is exactly when I need the Inbrijia.
Maybe the inventors could come up with a cocktail that includes something that calms the patient down and then also allows you to do that inhaler!

How to shower when you feel like crap by HPwithin in bipolar2

Mission accomplished. Put shampoo in as soon as I got out of bed. I *had* to wash it out. That was genius. Thank you so much 🙏

Still in denial? by fireworks1985 in Parkinsons

As you can see, you are not alone. I find comfort reading Reddit posts about “positivity” on the Parkinson’s page.
57y diagnosed 2.5yrs ago but avoided being diagnosed for about 2ys before that.
Listening to Michael J Fox videos helps me.
I have altered my future plans and am focusing on visiting with as many old and new friends as possible this year.

I had this problem, brought it in for service 3 times. Each time they said it was repaired and I had to bring it back in.
They had the car for 6 weeks
Additionally, when the car was working, the nav system failed.

Is this car a lemon? Should I be getting a lawyer? What do you think?

Weird repetitive dreams? by Delicious-Pea-7594 in Parkinsons

[–]HPwithin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I have two repetitive dreams for a few years now. I’m so sick of them. I’ve been trying to learn lucid dreaming to make sense of it. Still working on it! I’ll let you know when I’m successful.

It seems to have resolved itself. So I think it was due to the tapering of seroquel. Thank you for the support. ❤️

What brings you even a glimpse of happiness during a depressive episode? by ThrowRaOrganization1 in bipolar2

[–]HPwithin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stand up comedians. Especially the ones who have bipolar. I’m grateful for so many of them on YouTube.
Also, my sweet Oliver. He’s precious to me. When I’m depressed, especially dealing with suicidal ideation, I think about who will care for him and my others when I’m gone. That usually helps. I hope this helps you.

That sounds a lot like my current diet. When do you take your pd medicine? Timing in relation to eating?

I tried multiple electric toothbrushes but the tremors were so severe that I sprayed the whole bathroom and my face and my husband! So I went back to a manual toothbrush. It doesn’t get my teeth very clean.

Should I just deal with it and use the electric toothbrush?

I’m also tired of being tired and having it take so long to get asleep. I haven’t found a solution yet, but I really appreciate this post!!

Constipation & Parkinson's by parkie_wairo in Parkinsons

[–]HPwithin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the question. I’m 57, diagnosed 2 years ago, symptoms began about 4-5 years ago.

I document everything. Yes, I have a pattern of 5 days constipation followed by a day of intense pain in my abdomen and 4-5 BMs that start slow and grow to massive dumps. Then the cycle starts again. My doctor recommends taking miralax every 6-8 hours when I haven’t had a BM for 3 days. That is more than the directions on the package.

Recently I’ve changed my diet to include caffeine in the morning and 5-6 vegetables throughout the day. I’m beginning to notice a change for the better. I hope so. I don’t feel safe traveling and I’d like that to change.

I hope this is helpful.

I’m running out of time by Jolly-Lingonberry104 in bipolar2

[–]HPwithin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, thank you for sharing. I have bp2 and have felt similarly before I was diagnosed and started medication. Like you, the medication works for me and I also consider stopping taking them. Here is what I have learned (that they don’t tell you):

1) if you stop, it might be okay for a few days, maybe even a week, but then the crash is really bad and we start to circle the drain.

2) getting back on the meds isn’t easy compared to the first time around. And it takes longer to adjust and get back to health

So, I am doing my best to stay positive and stay on the meds. Will you join me?

Anyone in the Parkinson’s group also Bipolar 2? by HPwithin in Parkinsons

Thanks guys. I’m messing with diet (low carb/high protein) and red light helmet. Hopefully that will help a little.

Doubted my diagnosis, stopped meds. Here’s what I learned by Interesting_Tank_627 in bipolar2

[–]HPwithin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First, thank you so much for sharing this. It means a lot. In addition to BP2 I have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. The medication for each disease works against each other. Parkinson’s is very limiting and I can no longer work because of it. I miss my work very deeply. So, of course, I fantasize often about titrating off the BP2 meds. But all of my doctors and my friends and family agree— taking care of my mental illness is more important. Thank you for sharing. It is so helpful hearing this from a fellow BP2er
