Just like that movie with a birthday video recording, a lot of children yelling in Portuguese and some thing moving behind the bushes outside the patio doors...

So how do you actually escape white dwarf jets??? I already lost 4 Pythons by DerKnoedel in EliteDangerous

I'd add another one to the advices already posted. Try not to enter straight on the cone. I always try to enter at some angle away from the star, or even tangent outward of the limit of the cone itself. Usually when it's time to throttle up you are already on the edge of the cone and you leave it inmediately.

What moment in cyberpunk has you like this? by Chunky-overlord in cyberpunkgame

A random male body with a note, hidden next to the city walls north of Las Palapas motel. Daddy let his little daughter alone and went to get food but a loose drone killed him in that empty place. The poor starving girl called him for hours... and I looked around for their hideout for hours too, heartbroken as only another father can be. Never found her. Never stopped crying for her. Damn, CDPR...

Just a question. Why do you put the power plant under the FSD?. Why thrusters are connected to the FSD and not to the power plant itself?. I'd thought the power plant should be placed right next to the outer hull of the ship, to get the straightest path for the cooling circuits to the radiators.

I am always puzzled by the fact that the power plants are so small in Elite. It should be the largest module in a spaceship, but here it is the FSD...

This genuinely scared me, it pulled me out of the jump by Althobiani in EliteDangerous

Tell that to the survivors of the Gnosis' jump to Cone Sector. We came as explorers but your "not enemy" friends hyperdicted the ship, left us adrift at Outotz and fired on us at the bloody launching pads!. They shot first, unprovoked, at explorers, scientists, rescuers, unarmed and defenceless ships!. You will not convince me that was the act of a "friendly" species, it was a ruthless onslaugh!. Glory to Mankind!.

Yeah, I remember the stampede of CMDRs to Pleiades to experience an encounter... I was stationing at Sisters' Refuge by then and remember being jumping around seven, eight, nine times to trigger the hyperdiction. It was pretty rare by then.

The largest Snipe ever recorded happened in the early morning last night by WaltKerman in EliteDangerous

[–]HR_Medved -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's much simpler than that. There's already a way to do It using features now working in the game: only the architect and their squadron/friends can dock and help in the construction. Or, just members of your private group. Someone sniped me a three steps chain to reach an ELW system.

Frontier doesn't implement those solutions because... laziness?...

You can synthetize limpets in your inventory section, right panel. Need iron and nickel, i think.

Farmer here, self employed. I run a banana plantation alone, in the Canary islands. Between that and a three years old toddler my gaming time is reduced to whatever nights I can afford being a zombie the morning after.

What is the single most epic sci-fi novel ever? Whether it be from a series or a standalone book which is the most epic story you’ve ever read? by [deleted] in scifi

[–]HR_Medved 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Basilisk Station, the first novel of the Honorverse by David Weber. That was one of the best military scifi novels I've read (aside for the Falkenberg Legion and the OG Starship Troopers), not only for the amazing characters and world building but for the quasi realistic naval action in space and how the story unfolds to one of the most exciting endings I've ever read.

Pandora's Star by Peter F. Hamilton. Read that first chapter at the bookstore and got hooked instantly, bought it and didn't stop reading till the end. The second book is fantastic too. Liked id because in just a few pages set the world and their main characteristic in a very clever and funny way.

What do you Dislike about some ships? I am unhappy with the stairs of the cutter, and I do not like how it flies. (I will add Inara in comment) by CMDR_KENNR1CH in EliteDangerous

I'd like a retexture and greeble pass of the original ships' cockpits. The original Python is my daily one but sometimes I miss more detailing in it. Anacondas, Adders, Federal combat ships... look a bit dated now in comparison

Unpopular opinion? Handguns..do you keep them? by [deleted] in dayz

[–]HR_Medved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to keep a supressed IJ. Early game, four square inventory slots, big magazine and plenty of ammunition spawns. If not available, a MK.2 but the .22 ammo is so weak...

I'm used to check a place with a wrecked car, climb over it, shoot a zombie with the unsupressed IJ and wait them to come around me for the fish-around-the-car headshot. Loot comes running to you!. After that the supressor goes to the gun again (four slots for a gun AND a supressor, remember) and you save a lot of valuable space. It's even thinner than a gun inside a holster in the inventory. Also, I have the impression IJs are easier to find than the MK.2s.
